"Good Value Stay for a Group"

8.0

The property was a in a nice quiet location and short taxi/Uber from the station. It is walkable but not easy with cases etc. The house is pretty spacious and plenty of amenities. Considering there was quite a large group of us, hot water was not an issue at all and decent shower pressure too. There is a WhatsApp number to use for any questions or problems which is helpful.

Outside the property is either permit holders or 11 hour max stay. A parking permit would be useful for the house if anyone is driving. When we arrived there was bedding for the sofa beds but no covers or sheets - this was clearly an oversight but soon remedied, the cleaners popped back whilst we were out. I would have preferred the beds to have mattress/duvet/pillow protectors on. The "pink bathroom" could do with some work as one of the taps doesn't work/just spins round and the tiling is damaged etc. and one of the bedrooms has no curtain/curtain had fallen off so we had to try and hang it ourselves semi-successfully. Was a little disappointed to have received a message out of the blue asking me for a £200.00 security deposit 48 hours before I arrived, which wasn't part of the original terms. I understand the necessity but it wasn't what was agreed and I had no choice but to pay it or risk my booking being cancelled at very short notice. It was returned on check-out.

Location and room

Overpriced -Photos listed only shows the best part of the property. Bad smell all over house when you flush toilet - the worst I stayed in UK It seems all other ratings in booking.com are faked by property management. In the house entrance there is a private area where there are other people staying which means the property is not solely given to you. All wooden floors are broken, so walk very carefully not to get hurt- if are planning for a high priced, shity smelly place with no grill tray coffee/tea powder- this is the best one for you. Host also not that great.

"Overall we would recommend staying here if you’re looking for a stay in Brighton, especially now there are new photos of"

8.0

We recently stayed here for two nights as a large group (13 altogether) 8 adults & 5 children for my mums 60tj Birthday. The house itself is lovely, with high ceilings and bright throughout. It looks like the house could do with some TLC (small holes in floorboards, marks in one of the bathroom sinks) but these are minimal and do not affect the stay. The location is great, with Brighton pier, the marina and Brighton station close by. Parking is available opposite the house on a pay and display. Restrictions are 9am-8pm daily. The advert was somewhat deceiving. We stayed on 18th Aug for 2 nights. We booked with the impression that there would be ‘8 double beds and 2 sofa beds’. On arrival, there was 1 double bed in 2 rooms, 2 single beds in 1 room, 1 room with 3 single beds and then the living room with 2 sofa beds. Bed linen and towels were provided.

The kitchen is equipped, offering an oven, microwave, dishwasher but we couldn’t find any baking trays, kitchen towels or dishwasher tablets. This wasn’t the end of the world. But would have been a nice little touch. There is a small garden, but it appears to be shared with the neighbour. It’s a Victorian style house, so there is a basement flat underneath. As you go through the first main door, there is another door boarded up which first inspection doesn’t look in use, however, we notice neighbours going in and out. However, we didn’t have any issues with the neighbours and checking in/out was simple. We booked with the impression it was a 12pm check out but received a message the morning before our last day, stating it was 10am. When we queried this, they apologised and we were able to check out at 12pm as planned. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and believe the house has lots of potential for future bookings. Since staying. Within a week, there seem to be new photos & looks like the house has been decorated since we visited.
