Tomiris Lady's Capsul hostel only for women

Tomiris was the best hostel I stayed at in Kazakhstan - friendly, comfortable capsule beds, super clean , delicious breakfast and easy to get to (bus 79 from the airport stops 10 minutes walk away, Baikonur metro is 15 min walk ). The staff were helpful and spoke English, too! There was always tea and coffee and every morning breakfast was a bit different but always salad, fruit, omelette, cake, toast etc.

I LOVE this hostel so much. Staff was very kind and helpful. I love the concept and I'm glad I stayed here. The breakfast was healthy and delicious. The bed was clean and tidy. The bathrooms were well equipped. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. The guests were so sweet and the workers were the best ever! Even the cleaning lady was helpful. Everyone went out of their way to make sure that I had a good time during my stay. More importantly, I felt safe and welcomed in this hostel. I will return again in the future.

Delicious breakfast and overall clean. The older staff (brown-haired woman in glasses) was nice and friendly.

Zero privacy, zero personal space. I was the only non-Russian speaking guest there, so it felt like I was being monitored for every possible mistake I might make. They have very strict quiet hours after 11pm, despite the poor sound insulation. One night, I returned to the hostel late after a long day out. I took out my luggage from the locker and was unzipping it, when I suddenly got scolded by one of the staff – a woman in her 30s, who was awoken by her slumber in the very same room. Was it completely my fault that their lockers were placed right next to the bunk beds? I really tried to be quiet, but the overall space was so narrow. Her lack of hospitality made me feel like a boarding school student being reprimanded by a warden, even though I was a paying customer. The only solution I came up with later on was to handle my luggage outside of the room, at the dining area.

My first time travel, alone and international who cannot speak their language. I am thankful enough that somehow they can speak english and they do their best to help me even there is a language barrier. I can definitely feel and see it through their actions. People might see them like snob or looks angry but they are not. They help me with the taxi, my things and give me what do i needed durig my stay.

The place is a little bit far from the city but it's better i think because it is only place for women and you will more safer.

This was one of the cleanest, quietest and nicest hostels ever! Everyone was so indulgent with everyone. The beds were comfy, the aircon helped with the heat, the breakfast was really nice and they even adapted things for my vegan needs. The internet was also very good and close to the hostel were a lot of things like shops and a Pilates studio we liked to go to. The staff was super attentive and cute!

A common area with more space for example to do sports was not available, but that was okay.

This is probably the best hostel that a solo woman can book. It's a very safe space and spotless. The capsules give you privacy and your own space and the lockers are big. There are 4 toilets and 4 showers. I feel like there can be more toilets but I've never had to wait either. The breakfast is scrumptious and lavish. Loads to eat and it's very healthy and tasty. Location is good too, there's a bus stop in walking distance and I even went to shymbulak by bus. There are loads of restaurants and convenience stores closeby and it's in a very nice neighborhood.

The only thing I would change is the lack of proactiveness of the staff. Unfortunately for me the cutest and friendliest staff Jenny and her friend Gulzat were only available in the evening. They speak very good English and have such a good vibe, I love those girls! Unfortunately in the morning the staff is very curt, unapproachable and unhelpful. They don't speak English and offer limited help. She did help me to book a tour and to find information but she's not really friendly. The cleaning lady keeps the place absolutely spotless but not friendly either. My advice to them is to have someone who speaks English during the day, as that's when people generally check in and if they can offer basic info like foreigners should download yandex, 2gis etc. They should also have tie ups with tour companies so we don't have to blindly search for one. And if they can offer directions for bus or metro that's additional help. This hostel has the potential to be 10/10 if they did this. But I loved staying here and will probably go back after my trip to Tashkent.

Clean and quite

One of the least comfortable hostel I have ever stayed in 26 countries. Not the physical environment, but the vibe. The receptionist was soooooo rude and impatient, even shouting at me several times when I could only speak English as a foreigner. It was not my fault that I couldn’t speak Russian or Kazakh as a foreigner. I of course wanted to have better communication with you, but it is also your job to try to better communicate and not to LIE on the hostel website saying English is available. The reception woman shouted at me again when I asked her that I couldn’t open the lock. Her facial expression and her voice were like she saw something super disgusting, as if I was the least valuable person in the whole world that could not open the lock. I really feel being personal attacked and left the whole the next day in early morning, although I booked and paid two nights. Really not recommended. The atmosphere in the hostel is soooo wired. Quite as hell. You would be living some old ladies as well. No clue why. It seems they are staying there for a long time. The reception woman was eating and watching TV the whole day in the hostel. In other words, she is using the whole house all the time with you, and you don’t have space to avoid her. Such a mental damage.
