Railway Cottage - Pet friendly with parking

The area was beautiful and perfect for our needs. The beds were soooo comfortable and facilities at the cottage were great.

The only things I would comment on was in a few places the decor needed sorting out and please someone clean the windows outside.

No toilet upstairs, plugs difficult ,no freezer for ice, few cobwebs

Gorgeous little cottage set in a quiet village. Good size garden for the dogs but some places they could have escaped through but thankfully didn’t. Two good sized bedrooms with plenty of hanging space for our clothes. Well equipped kitchen small kitchen. Comfortable lounge area. Easy off road parking and easy access to Ripon, we walked there in 30-40 minutes with the dogs.

Maybe a welcome information pack would be useful but we managed well. Good communication from the owners so that was great.

Comfortable and warm if needed the heating on. Bathroom and shower were great, beds were lovely and comfy. Great location for walks along the Ripon canal. Lovely neighbour who was knowledgable about places to visit. Has a nice little garden to sit in and a parking spot right next to the cottage.

The only issues related to the kitchen. The cooker extractor did not work and needed a good clean. For some reason one of my pillows did not fit into the case provided. There were 3 cereal bowls (no good if 4 people staying) and two had chips in them. There were only two soup type bowls. I should have read the information that said fridge, it did not mention a freezer compartment as there isn't one, so I wasted frozen food I had brought and could not refreeze the packs for our picnic bag. It would have been helpful to have more equipment to enable you to cook meals - e.g. scales, a measuring jug, a grater, ovenproof dishes. The tray in the upper oven needed a good clean, but I lined it with foil. I did not find a teapot.

It was fine in size for us and quiet, v good shower and hanging space for clothes. Kitchen well provided. Bathroom radiator very effective and the overall heating was excellent and easy to alter.

The bathroom mirror is on the wall opposite the sink so shaving is complicated, needs a shaving mirror above the sink. Could do with hand towels as well as bath ones, especially in the bathroom and one in the kitchen would be desirable. A blind in the bathroom is preferable. The staircase is fine if you are youngish and fit but not suitable if not especially with luggage.

Loved the location, easy access to property. Great cosy cottage, (we would love to live in a property like this 🤭). Clean towels n bedding. Easy walking distance to Ripon.

Bed was a bit hard 😞, more cooking dishes and utensils would be nice especially if staying longer and wanting to cook main meals at cottage.

Location, warm

Light broken at front door, nearly tripped twice, couldn’t get the key out couldn’t see. Mould in shower, heating boiler had a leak and was noisy, couldn’t get the oven to work, couldn’t open the key fob to return the key had to leave in cover

Location was great!

Sofa old and needs replacing. Beds weren’t comfortable. Not overly clean and had damp.

The location is great for anyone visiting Rippon and the North Yorkshire Dales. It's a 1.7m from Rippon centre, situated in a quiet rural spot, quite lovely.

There's a junction onto a main road that requires care exiting but there was nothing about the property that was a concern.
