Smart Stay in the Heart of Lucca

A very comfortable apartment in a central position to see the sites of Lucca.

Everything was to our satisfaction.

Great air conditioning which helped when the temperature was 34 degrees C outside. This apartment is basic but clean and comfortable. There is a good shower although the enclosure is very small so not good for large people. The kitchen has new appliances. The location is fantastic. You step outside the door into the heart of Lucca. It worked very well for me.

My only complaint is the noise from upstairs which is outside the owner’s control. This may be a problem for light sleepers.

Almost nothing has been done to make this apartment enjoyable. It has great potential but the owners could do so much more with it !Shower is awful and floods the bathroom especially as there is no bathmat. Pillows are awful and there are only 2 not 4 as pictured. The air conditioning unit is in the kitchen, takes up so much space, sounds like an aeroplane and after a while actually heats up the apartment as it’s so ineffective. There are only 2 cups and they are but there are about 10 plates that are the cheapest you can buy. Simple improvements: a bathmat, ropes on the laundry line outside to dry towels/ bathmat, extra cushions per the pictures, new mugs, fix the light fitting in the bedroom that is in the cupboard and not attached to the ceiling.

Clean and good location. Quiet. Big fluffy bath towels.

It was located in a nice area of town inside the walls 12-18 minutes walk from the train station. The apartment was well supplied with toiletries and kitchen supplies were pretty good. There were enough pots and pans to cook simple meals.

There were a few issues that would have made the stay nicer. There were no fly screens on the windows so the room got very stuffy at night since there was no a/c or fans and the presence of mosquitoes made it impossible to leave the windows open. The bed didn’t have a top sheet. The toilet seat would not stay up by itself and the bathroom was small with only a small shower curtained area with a floor drain. There was also not enough hot water for 2 people to take short showers in the morning.

Location perfect in centre within the Walls of Lucca.

The Walled City of Lucca is beautiful and the apartment is central so it is easy to access everything. It was lovely to have two rooms to use and we enjoyed the accommodation very much.

The shower and kitchen taps were exceptionally hot so great caution needs to be exercised to avoid scalding. The 'dressing room' is a cupboard with a mirror and hooks in it, so not a dressing room as such, but amusing.

Location was great and no noise from outside.

Badly equipped kitchen (some advertised items missing). Not enough hot water for two showers. Lots of foot and furniture noise from flat above, particularly the first night, well into the early hours of the morning. Unable to close off the stairwell light from the bedroom, leading to a poor nights sleep.
