Starling cottage

Great spacious space with the added bonus of the outdoor area been right outside. Although there were other people staying in the other accommodation it never felt too busy. The pool table, table tennis table & the dartboard was a hit for us!

If I was to be really critical I would say the following - 1) the wet room needed a stronger fan, as it doesn’t have windows it stayed wet after a shower for quite a while - a stronger fan would help to dry it out. 2) we were 6 adults holidaying together - the bed with a bunk was too small for 2 of us to comfortably sleep in so 1 ended up on the top bunk! A double or 2 singles would have been much better in that room with a pull out chair bed somewhere if required for an additional guest.

Mieszkanie jest odpowiednio duże (trzy sypialnie, dwie łazienki, ogromny salon i kuchnia), czyste i dobrze wyposażone (szczególnie pozytywnie zaskoczyła nas mnogość wyposażenia kuchennego), w trakcie naszego pobytu wszystko działało poprawnie. Basen jest w innym budynku, z dostępem za pomocą kodu. Sam basen jest niewielki, ale do relaksu po długim zwiedzaniu wystarczający, dodatkowo do dyspozycji jest jacuzi. Mieszkanie było w pełni przygotowane na nasze przyjęcie, wysprzątane, z zapasem pościeli i ręczników. Sam teren wokół jest dość duży i również pozwala na miłe spędzanie czasu. Jeżeli nastawiasz się na zwiedzanie Anglii (tak jak my) to samochód jest obowiązkowy.

Na tym terenie zasięg telefonów komórkowych był słaby, a zapewniony dostęp do internetu niestabilny (chociaż, kiedy Wi-fi było dostępne, pozwalało nawet na oglądanie filmów).

Clean, spacious rooms with well stocked kitchen, plus extras like games, books, tourist leaflets, etc. Pool facilities were great, and we all loved the jacuzzi. While there was no wifi, this helped keep kids off phones and engaged in the fun. It was a great stay all round and would recommend. There is a great local park 5 mins walk, with play area, tennis court, basket ball net and zip line.

The sauna is not really usable. Only got to about 50-55 degrees even after 20-30 mins and more, and alexa speaker system not hooked up. The pool table was missing a ball, but there was a load of ping pong balls, and both still loads of fun with the kids. There is no wifi connection in the cottage and very weak outside, but if you can see past that you'll be in for a great stay in the countryside.

I was particularly pleased with the little welcome pack that was left for us on the dining room table upon arriving with crisps, sweets and biscuits. The information booklet was informative and both it and the rack by the door contained lots of information about attractions and things to do in the local area. The leisure area was excellent for the children to enjoy a swim on the rainy days, and several seaside towns and attractions were just a short drive away from the property. They had a good laugh playing on the table tennis table also. The information booklet says that the leisure area is supposed to close at 1800hrs for the pool to be cleaned, but the hosts offered to let us use the facility later if we wanted to, they just had to be informed first so they didn't use chemicals in the pool while anyone was in there. There is a old country pub just at the end of the lane, which would be handy for those guests who can get some time away from their children. The information pack mentions that the hosts are looking at updating the property over time, so this property will likely only get better with time.

Honestly there was not much at all to dislike about the property. The only thing I had trouble with was that the parking spaces are marked off with long beams of wood wrapped in wire mesh, which I had to move a bit to fit the family Tourneo into, but the hosts didn't seem to mind at all that I had moved them.
