Ocean Front Paradise with Hot Tub in Hawaii

This house was perfect for our family. We enjoyed every minute there. Especially liked the isolation of the area yet so easy to find good food, farmers market and museums in Kilo and surrounding towns. Thank you for letting us stay in such a wonderful place.

No problems!

Ocean front view with lava rock in backyard. Extras like cooler, games, beach towels provided. The spa on the back porch with ocean views was amazing, we saw whales and sea turtles!

No lock on the master bedroom door and slatted doors for each room (so lack of privacy) but our stay was still amazing.

Ocean front: hear the ocean waves and feel the ocean breeze. Quiet. Lush. Clean. Spacious. Beautiful sunrise. Hot tub. Lawn chairs and a boogie board for use.

Just under a 35 minute drive to Hilo, which isn’t bad.

We enjoyed the ocean view, the roominess for our group, and the amenities for cooking our own meals. There were plenty of towels and the beds were comfortable enough. The house uses a cistern to catch rain water as the only water source but it wasn’t a problem for our stay. We bought filtered water for drinking and cooking. WIFI was reliable. We didn’t use the hot tub.

We had a hard time contacting the managers to get the code to retrieve the key, it wasn’t provided in the Welcome information. There were ants in the kitchen even though the managers said they had treated for them. Other than that we had a nice stay.

The view was amazing! The hot tub was nice to have after hiking the volcano.

I hate leaving a bad review, but the reason I chose to stay at this place were the good reviews it had. Sadly, the property isn't cleaned adequately. Roaches! They disclosed on a little note taped to the side of the refrigerator that there were ants in the kitchen, but didn't disclose anything about the roaches. The door handles and light switches haven't been wiped down in some time. The ice trays were dirty, as well as the freezer, and the cutlery tray was dirty. We felt uncomfortable using any of the dishes without washing them first. There was hair on the shelf in the master shower. The towels in the cabinet and the cabinet shelves are dusty. A sign at the front door asks you to remove your shoes, but your feet or socks are dirty after a couple of steps in. The laundry is outside in a closet and smells bad, when you open the doors. We really needed to wash some clothes, but didn't feel comfortable doing it there. There are dead bugs on the screens and in the windowsills and even stuck to the glass by the front door. There is no A/C and it is very hot.

Loved the location right by the ocean! Loved the back patio with comfortable furniture and the hot tub. It was nice to have a washer and dryer. The kitchen had everything we needed. The home felt very private and we saw some whales while we were there!

Could use a few upgrades but had everything we needed.
