Mini Shortboard Room with a Queen Bed

Bed was comfortable, location is fantastic

Read details carefully before you book. There is no microwave or mini fridge in the Shortboard Room and it is TINY. This was important for us because we were in town for a race and needed to be able to heat water and keep small food items cold for very early in the morning. The onsite parking is not adequate if the motel is all booked and we checked in late so we didn't get parking. The thermostat in our room didn't control the temperature at all. The walls are paper thin and there was a very sick guest in the room next to ours and I could hear them coughing horribly most of the night, which was unsettling for many reasons. The property charges me the full amount for our stay prior to us ever checking in. I messaged the property to let them know we were disappointed in our stay and got no response at all.

Walk ability to beach and eateries. Nice decor. Fresh and clean.

Lite shower curtain that sticks to you while you shower, protruding bed frame corners, many bright electronic lights on walls and little kids running through the courtyard yelling at their mother for a period of time. Not sure why public outside shower is at back of property (located in back of our room for us to see people rinsing off). Not enough parking spots on property for number of rooms.

Loved the decor, the cute cabins, the sitting areas, the proximity to the beach and how quiet it was. The owners were super friendly and provided any item I requested. The bed was super comfy.

I couldn't bring my pooch and there was no small frig. Shower was a bit small, but the adorable bathroom decor made up for it.

My daughter and I had been touring colleges in Northern California, and since I lived in the Bay Area for five years a long time ago, I wanted her to experience the beauty of the rugged coast where the redwoods and the golden gate meet the sea. Surf Lodge is an OUTSTANDING addition to the quaint and small area of Stinson Beach, with fantastic amenities, style, charm, location, and the staff was fantastic!! We cannot wait to return for more time.
