"Great time had by us both!!!"

It was a locked box with a code. I had to use a credit card to open the box because the spring wasn’t strong enough to pop open

Nothing. It was so private and peaceful which was wonderful

This was such an amazing house! The property is very well taken care of with an amazing covered back porch. The yard was large and beautiful. The house was spotless and had everything we needed. We were a short drive away from Volcanos National Park. We picked up the majority of our groceries on our way from Hilo airport but there were a few small grocery stores nearby to supplement what we had, which was convenient. Great, great place to stay!

"Great place to stay. Do better than me, book for longer than a 1 night stay!"

10.0

The rental was perfect. The only regret I had was that we didn’t stay longer. Having never been to Hawaii, my wife and I only planned a side trip to the Big Island for a day and a half. We made the most of it, which meant running around a lot. Honestly, after the time we spent on O’ahu, we realized the Island of Hawai’i was much more of our vibe. I wish we had more time at this rental. The back yard botanical gardens (j/k, but really nice) was amazing. My wife had me do a whole photo shoot of her back there, first thing in the morning. I had really hoped to make good use of the fire pit when we got back from star gazing at Mauna Kea, but unfortunately, the rain forest sometimes has it’s downside, which turned out to be a light drizzle, that lasted all night. The only thing I think people need to be aware of, is that the property is remote, and there aren’t really food options after like 6pm. They mentioned that in the posting, so my wife and I picked up a few things from Hilo before we made our way down. The frozen Walmart pizza wasn’t the best, but was pretty nice when we got back late from star gazing, and there were no other options around. LOL

The only thing I thought could be better, would be to have some split firewood, and maybe some fire starters, for the firepit. The only wood in the shed was, what looked like, some Home Depot 4x4 posts, cut into smaller pieces, and maybe scrap plywood. It will burn, but not the best firepit vibe.
