The Hilltop Cabin Retreat in Bass Lake Heights

The views from the lodge were great and we had excellent WiFi, air con and TV options. The closeness to Bass lake was a bonus, although parking there is pricey and not covered by national park passes. We highly recommend a swim in the lake it was so qarm even in early June, although gets very busy on weekends we noted. There is a lovely sunny deck with chairs and table as well as cover and 2 bathrooms which was a bonus. Esther was really helpful and responsive, and Oakfield town centre, a few miles away had everything you would need. The beds were really comfortable although a bedside light would have been great too.

The lodge was superficially clean but look any further and it was crying out for a deep clean. The bedrooms in particular weren't to clean especially the cushion backs, carpets and skirting boards. The toilet roll holders were dirty and rusty, and for such a lovely spot there was some attention to detail needed, especially in view of the high cost. This lodge was the most expensive of all the places we had stayed over the last 2 weeks, and a higher standard of hygiene and cleanliness was expected Yosemite is not on the door step,, but we knew this and it was no fault of the Lodge or Esther, we found getting any closer to the Park incurred greater costs and we were already over budget but Yosemite was on our bucket list. Instructions on how to adjust the air con would have helped, although Esther did confirm it could be adjusted from the lodge, it took us a while to figure out you twisted it to alter the temp when we thought it was touch screen and maybe remotely operated.

The bedrooms were on each side of the house which allowed for more privacy. The cabin was clean and comfortable and in the perfect location for our stay.

The view is amazing. Very peaceful at night, deer roaming around.

Both shower heads didn't work well. Could have used a few more towels. Still, it's a beautiful place with amazing views.

Very nice , clean , spacious and located close to Oakhurst and Bass Lake. South Yosemite entrance is 35 minutes drive. Enjoyed beautiful sunset and sunrise from porch.
