Blueberry Cottage - Lower Mill Estate

Facilities, setting, quality of furnishings etc Most of all, so much to do

Finding visitor parking was difficult on two busy nights

The property had different style bedrooms which suited most of us . My daughter partner and 2 children used the top floor bedroom as it had an en-suite and seemed to be the largest room, son had the middle floor single bedroom , parents had the double ground floor (no en-suite) daughter king sized en-suite and me and my husband the double with single room (no en-suite) Property was very well equipped, beautifully decorated for Christmas and thoughtfully designed . Pool in hub was perfect midweek as so quiet . Busier at weekends .

Sone of the beds were uncomfortable - single beds and would have been good to have en-suites in all rooms . Shop on site VERY expensive

Staff were very friendly and dealt promptly with issues. Welcome pack appreciated. Beautifully presented when we arrived with table set and christmas music playing. Leisure facilities were great.

Not a criticism of Blueberry cottage or the owners at all, but a criticism of the lower mill estate: they chose to have their Christmas party on the Saturday. This was the only full day we were there. The restaurant and pool shut at 5pm which meant we had to change our plans for the day. Would have been better to have a party on a weekday so that fewer guests would have been affected.

The pictures misrepresented the property.

Spacious and well furnished. Great for a group of friends to get together. Had everything we needed and the Estate is wonderful. The communication with the host was really great too.

Excellent directions and instructions made arrival very easy.

Pros - very well equipped kitchen. Lovely living and dining area. Nice view over the lake.

Cons - The property is in need of refurbishment throughout, especially the bedrooms and bathrooms which are very dated.
