Quiet and relaxing

Mattress wasn’t the comfiest for me but my friend loved it!

An outstanding property. This was definitely the highlight of our trip - private, comfortable, cosy (in the best way). Every little thing has been thought of. The outside bath was brilliant in the rain and under the stars. And the projector and screen for movie nights was a great surprise ! Hosts were delightful, great communication but left us to our privacy as well.

Not a bad word to say about it. Would 100% stay again in a heartbeat.

The Box Car is stylish and finished to a high level. It feels authentic to the owners, but also comfortable and stylish for a short break.

We are so glad we made the choice to stay out of the hustle and bustle of Queenstown centre - The Box Car was such a beautiful, peaceful and cosy retreat, despite still being close to Queenstown. Amazed at how so many creature comforts have been squeezed into such a small space. Loved the attention to detail with the decor and design. And the bed was exceptionally comfortable. It was such a treat have a cosy cinema experience on a chilly rainy night.

Not much to fault, but it would have been nice to have a covered outdoor area for rainy periods.

The outdoor bath and the folding doors opening up on both sides of the boxcar, for indoor/outdoor flow.

Nice little private place

Everything was perfect except these two: The gas for hot water wasn’t on, need to try to find how to turn the hot water did eventually found it. Didn’t received the code for the key at the first time.

Great location and plenty of character.
