The terrace, although we couldn’t use the bath as it was very dirty and we had no water for two days.

We had no water for 2 days, it was dirty, there was no WiFi, no working coffee machine, half of the induction hobs were not working, plug sockets were falling out of the wall, curtain pole was falling out of the wall, the company had left their own stuff in the utility and cupboards, the towels were ripped. It was very hard to have assistance or help throughout our stay.

The roof terrace and the air-con

Such a disappointment, no running water on 2 occasions (with the second occasion not coming back on at all) that led to Wonderful Italy relocating us on the 6th day to another property. luckily, this was one was lovely. The apartment was dusty, the roof had leaked after rainfall, and it had not been fixed or cleaned. The outside bath plug had broken, and the rainwater that was stuck in the bath dripped through the ceiling into the kitchen continually. There was no Internet, and the tv was a smart tv. Therefore, that didn't work. The curtain pole was hanging out of the ceiling. The bedroom light fitting was hanging out of the ceiling and didn't work. The bedside plug socket was live and hanging out the wall. This is a modern apartment in a very old property, so be prepared to navigate to the 4th floor (75 steps) past various parafanalia (bed steds, painting cans, rubbish, etc) also if you are going onto the smaller of the roof terraces the glass door opens straight onto the glass corner of the skylight, if your not careful it will smash the glass door.

It was well presented, minimalist with some interesting architectural features and in a traditional Palermo neighbourhood. It had an outside Terrace and was very spacious.

Ok, Where to start. Please read carefully as this may or may not be why you stay; or do not stay here. I have tried to be objective and just present the facts to help you make an informed decision. No running water in the apartment after 8pm! Overall this apartment was very much a case of ‘Form over Substance’ Some very interesting architectural features. But the staircase to the terrace is really a glorified metal ladder with nothing to hold on to, the terrace walls are no more than 3ft high which is all that is between you and a 80ft drop, so if you don’t have a head for heights then this is not for you. The climb to the apartment is fine and expected and well documented so no issue there. The unforgivable issue was the fact that there was no running water after 8pm for the duration of our stay. We did consider booking into a hotel but wanted to give the company an opportunity to correct the situation or present a solution, they didn’t, and they certainly didn’t offer us any alternative to our stay at any point during our conversations. It was clear that the pump was not at fault as it was new and it did work when there was water in the tank, (we had to climb a ladder to constantly reset it to find this out) the issue was; there was no water supply to the apartment between 8pm and 6am every day. That meant that you could not wash, clean, cook or flush the toilet. The company suggested that the tank was too small and that it had to re-fill which sounded plausible but not a realistic or rational explanation. The company’s main line of communication; What’s App, was not functioning for part of our stay - rather conveniently. So pleased be advised, that this apartment has a limited running water supply to it. We had to fill bottles in the morning to at least clean our teeth and fill a pot. Not acceptable. I checked local media and there were no ‘water rationing’ hot spots where we were.

The apartment exceeded our expectations, it was superb. It was very modern and great facilities. It was a short stroll to the centre, with plenty of places to eat and drink. The location was very quiet and great to get away from busy streets and sit and relax on one of the apartments balconies.Hopefully we can visit here again.
