"A pleasant stay at Oyster Barn"

7.0

Great location, we were celebrating our Mum's 90th birthday, visiting all our old haunts.

Leaving the cleaning up to guests results in not the cleanest property. Not everyone has the same cleaning ethos. Vacuum cleaner was absolutely full and spread the smell of dog when using (we have a dog so are very aware of pet smells). Bathroom was very tired and the size of the barn would benefit from a second toilet. The only bedroom with a wardrobe was the main bedroom. All wardrobes and cupboards had a smell, not nice to put clothes in. The outside patio flagstones needed a good weed to make it pleasant to sit out on and as a family group of 63 - 90 the picnic bench seating provided was not accessible for a few of us. This barn could be wonderful with a few tweaks. We did enjoy our stay but would have loved it had the above comments been addressed. Chris & Gaynor were lovely hosts.

"Enjoyed a lovely few days in North Norfolk at Oyster barn."

8.0

In a well placed location on the North Norfolk coast to tour the area. Oyster barn is in a lovely rural position but is also close to amenities. Arrival instructions were informative and there were lots of recommendations for quieter beaches and good eateries that we explored. Wi-Fi signal was good. As the weather was great we were able to enjoy the use of the bbq.

Like other previous visitor comments one bathroom/toilet for six people was a strategical challenge but manageable. Toilet had an annoying dripping leak that needs attention.

Location was brilliant, the information pack available prior to visit and in the property were excellent and we used quite a few of the recommendations for places to visit, things to see and food to eat.

"Wonderful stay."

8.0

Clean Beds very comfortable. Nice and firm. Sheets and towels clean and fresh. Spacious property with enough room for six. Good Facilities Nice location. Not far from Cromer and all other beaches. Owners allow dogs. Their Gundog was very friendly.

Couldn't get the radiator thermostats to work. So it was a bit nippy in the bedrooms for the evening.

"It looked very nice but we didn't get to stay in it! Shame, it was what we wanted."

6.0

The double bed was comfortable and the shower was nice. There isn't really much more to say. I'm sure if we had been able to stay in the barn we'd paid for it would have been much nicer, and bigger.

We didn't actually get to stay in the 3-bed Oyster Barn we paid for. A short while before check-in (which was too late to book elsewhere) the owner rang and said they had a problem with the twin room which they'd had before, many flies coming from the woodwork. We couldn't stay in the other 2 double rooms, we needed 3 separate beds. We had little choice but to take another barn which only had 2 beds and a sofa. We've since been told we shall get a small refund against the cost, but it did spoil our time away. There was no separate dining room and the sofa bed took up the lounge when open, restricting our movements. Shame, because it was for a special Mother's Day family get-together and I didn't expect to be putting covers on spare bedding and squeezing around in the kitchen as I'm partly disabled, also, the 2-bed barn kitchen table had to be repositioned to all fit around. We also had a large, unpleasant doggy deposit the next morning right beside my passenger car door. Other than that... !!
