"Superb"

9.0

Location was excellent, lovely little place to stay. Pub was within walking distance of the property and food was wonderful and staff were very friendly. Cottage is a wonderful base for walking and we were incredibly lucky with the weather. Toll bridge staff are amazing and so helpful and knowledgeable.

Parking could be an issue at times but other than that, everything was great

"It was just brilliant. Would stay again without hesitation."

Self catering bare essentials provided but good shop 2 miles away in town. Fabulous historic and homely place to stay and dog friendly too. Great spot for walking/hiking and exploring a beautiful corner of North Wales.

"Cute and quirky with gorgeous views"

9.0

Lovely location, great little quirky cottage packed full of everything you might need. Comfy and cosy, we didn't need the open fire as it was gorgeously sunny and warm weather but would be great in the cooler months. Nice little outside space for watching the tides come and go on the opposite side of the bridge too. Very friendly toll keepers in the toll booth opposite and really close to a pub with nice food and gorgeous views. Dog friendly and perfectly places to explore a stunning part of Wales.

Comes with the territory, its is a toll bridge cottage afterall, but the cars going over the bridge can start quite early and are right outside your door. I'm a light sleeper so it woke me, the other half did hear them at all.

"Absolutely lovely and memorable place to stay."

8.0

Fantastic location at the end of a wooden vehicle bridge on a gorgeous estuary. Cosy, well insulated cottage with good electric radiators which heated quickly. Kitchen was well equipped. Log burning stove was great to have although we brought our own timber and there was only a small amount at the cottage. Interestingly the noise from cars stopping at the the toll outside was not intrusive.

The bed is a standard double so we found it a little on the small side and pillows were foam and not very comfortable. Only other small thing was the tiny amount of washing up detergent left for guests, which seemed a bit strange!

"Fun, unusual accommodation"

10.0

Cosy wood-clad interior, well equipped kitchen, comfortable furniture, efficient heating, quirky, characterful, beautiful surroundings, eco friendly.

TV reception kept breaking up; electrical switch for shower stuck; loose towel rail under sink.

"Unique stay in a beautiful location"

10.0

This beautiful cottage exceeded our expectations in all respects. It was cozy, especially with the wood burner, quiet, even with the toll activity, perfectly located for walks and dog friendly. Will definitely return.

It was perfect for us,.

"Excellent, historic and interesting property. Well maintained. Fantastic views from balcony."

The location was exceptional. The host - toll keepers - were friendly.

Car park is public so felt car was left at risk overnight.

"Beautiful location, would recommend for those looking for a peaceful break"

9.0

Location was excellent and would come back again, so quiet a peaceful with beautiful views. Excellent pub just across the road too (George III)

Nothing you could have done about it but the weather wasn't the best so had to cut the break short, left after two of the four nights booked

"Lovely place but a horrible Host."

7.0

Almost everything

On the first day we arrived to no hot water. The Host made arrangements for us to have a room at the adjacent hotel so we could shower. We declined this as we thought it was a waste of money to pay for an additional room for a shower. In addition, we had family staying in the hotel and used their shower. I suggested, that instead of paying for a hotel room that the Host might like to contribute a small reduction for the inconvenience. They said they would look into it. We left having not used the hotel room and also having advised the hotel immediately on our arrival that we would not use the room. We did not hear form the the host so I contacted them to ask if the had considered the small discount. I was told no, as we had told the gate staff(all lovely and friendly people) we had had a lovely trip. We were not asking for anything substantial, just a gesture and I really think to be offered a few quid discount to buy a drink would have been in order. We had gone out of our way to be accomadating. I would go so far as say that the women I spoke to was verging on rude and highly dismissive. It is shame as it had an impact on what would have otherwise been a lovely break.
