The apartment wasn’t clean. Bathroom door was broken and couldn’t close. The bed was uncomfortable and squeaky.

The apartment we rented was just awful. We travel a lot , But this is the first time we have had to contact booking.com for complain..Right after check-in, we found that the blanket in one of the bedrooms was extremely dirty, also has human and animal hair. We asked the owner to clean bed and replace the blanket. They came and replaced the blanket and removed the debris and dust from the wooden part of the bed. Simply swept the dust away with a rag. Didn’t used vacuum cleaner. And that was the only thing the owner did to improve the situation. It was very dusty under the beds . Smell of dust clogs your nose in the smaller bedroom after 5 minutes of being in this room. But all of this and a damaged frying pan, just all trifles compared to what we encountered later. We felt a very strong smell of sewage. We discovered that the shower drain had a cloth plugging the hole , which made it inoperable. The sewer gas smelled throughout the apartment . Because the door to the toilet is sliding- glass. This door does not seal the opening . Therefore, the smell can be easily felt in the apartment all the time.In addition, this door needs repair. It is incredibly difficult to open, because the opening system not working well. In order to go to the toilet ,you need lift heavy door.Apartment has an unpleasant smell in general, besides the terrible stench of sewage. Perhaps because the air conditioner needs to be cleaned, air conditioner filters are incredibly dirty. . Open window doesn’t help also . When you open windows, it adds additional unpleasant smell sometimes . Because all the windows open into the little tunnel. And on bottom of this tunnel many pipes -presumably sewage drain pipes. We asked landlord about refund money or offer other place , where possible to be . But he refused and said that we lying. Customer service from booking contacted him , but it didn’t help. We lost our money for 3 extra nights and left .

Central location, really friendly owner and the apartment has literally everything you need.

Lovely and comfy apartment in the heart of Alicante old town, just 5 min walking to Postiguet beach! Host were very nice. They were waiting for me at the door and they gave me lots of information about what to do and where to go to enjoy Alicante. The flat is very clean, it has everything you need to expend a good time, close to restaurants and bars but you can't hear lots of noise.

Could use more kitchen utensils such as a cutting board. And it turned to be higher up than expected (2nd story on the backside of the building)
