Notting hill the Mall, Mussoorie

We had booked our stay in this hotel with booking.com We had book 3 standard (only 3 were available )and one deluxe room Upon reaching there hotel told us that these 3 rooms are all on different floor and do not have any window. Upon questioning they said that everything is mention on the booking page(I checked..nothing was mentioned) Still we accepted,but the AC in one of the rooms was not working and the room was filled with bad smell, absolutely no ventilation and was suffocating like hell. They wanted us to take that room also which obviously was not inhabitable So we asked them to cancel the booking to which they denied. After a lot of hassles the hotel decided only to cancel only one room and not the entire booking. We were forced to stay in three small,ill ventilated rooms only which was very combursome and so one of the guests moved out to other hotel the next day Booking.com also was not a great help in assisting with this... They said they can cancel and refund only if the hotel agrees and the hotel kept on saying that we cannot do anything.. the guest have to take all the pain in cancellation We had no option but to carry on our stay for the rest of 2 days in such a negative atmosphere and the whole vacation was ruined because all of the family members could not stay together, and we had to spend hours on phone in discussion with booking.com or hotel employees even on 2nd and 3rd day.. even the customer service of booking.com is hell..they don't even call back or reply to email. Even the location of hotel is very very steep up hill. They do offer shuttle service for this..but only till 9:00 p.m., so u have to walk very steep upwards(even my mother had to do it at 75+ age,both knees operated) with your bags and shopping, very tiring and a spoiler

I like the stafs and the rooms for the rates they are offering to international clients. The lady at front desk was welcoming and she has done her best to assist us all the time. The only MAIN issue which they need to fix urgently is that they need to get their POS machine (bank machine) to be able to receive or take payments from International bank cards. We had to speak to many contacts locally in India to be able to sort their payments. We are not from India and it was not easy to really pay their bills. They need to ensure settlement

Bank machine there is not for international cards. They need to sort this soonest possible with their bank to allow foreign clients to be able to pay bills at this hotel

Very difficult to reach.it is not on mall road but away from mall road on a very steep climb..

Location not good

Nothing we liked in this property. By mistake also no one should book this hotel. Also it is on top of hill and no cars won't go near hotel and chances for car may fell down from top if anyone take their car there, very congested road towards the hotel.

Such a arrogant Reception Lady staff and Arrogant General Manager, They have charged extra money from us by saying that they have upgraded our room but room was very small and not cleaned, additionally they have charged 1200 for extra bed and given one oly and low quality mattress.Also room full of cockroaches.Photo attached here
