"Disappointing, dismissive, dirty."

1.0

We arrived at this house after a four hour journey, and got in easily despite the broken lock box. However, the property had not been cleaned. We went upstairs to discover clearly slept in beds, towels all over the floor, toothpaste in the sink. We assumed there had been a mix up with the housekeeper, and were perfectly willing to chat to the host about it - these things happen. The host refused to answer or return my calls. She texted to say there was a mix up and she had cancelled my booking. I triple checked my booking (having received a confirmation three days before and having paid in full the previous month) and this was not the case. She casually told me it might be better to try and find other accommodation - this was at 5pm on the night of our stay. She apologised via text, and said we could have a housekeeper in an hour (with I presume several hours of cleaning during our evening) or a refund. We asked for a refund, which she paid immediately. Thankfully we were able to get the last available room in the local pub, who informed us they had had a number of last-minute guests in the same predicament after booking at Burnden House. Mix ups happen, which is totally understandable. But the attitude of the host and her refusal to speak to us, created a lot of stress on what was supposed to be a special evening. We had also spent money on food we couldn't eat, as the emergency accommodation had no oven etc.

"We were a party of 4 adults and found the property to be wonderful and would definitely go back."

10.0

The house keys were easily accessible via a key box, having previously received the box code from the hosts email. The property is lovely, with gorgeous comfy beds and the paint colours used on the walls in all the rooms were fab. There is a large rear garden which I can imagine is lovely in Summer when the garden flowers are in bloom. The property is superbly located within a couple of minutes walk into Porthleven. The property is fully equipped with all necessary utensils, towels etc. We all had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend.

There really wasn't anything to dislike other than there was a musty smell as you entered the property. I didn't find this an issue as the property is large and close to the sea and musty smells can be expected from almost all true Cornish cottages. I must add that the smell couldn't be detected elsewhere in the property.

Fantastic location just a few minutes walk into Porthleven. Great to have off street parking. The cottage was very well equipped and spacious. Garden was fully dog proof!

Damp smell. No hairdryer.

"Poor service"

Nothing we couldn't get in.

Nothing we booked for our Wedding Anniversary in October received confirmation and also confirmation of an early check in. When we got there we expected someone to let us in but there was no one. We contacted the property and they said we had no booking but they had taken the money no one turned up and our number was blocked, we had to stay elsewhere in Porthleven.

"A truly wonderful Cornish Cottage, offering exceptional value for money."

10.0

What an amazing find. This is a great, spacious, beautifully decorated and furnished property. There was everything you could possibly need and more for a great holiday. A wonderful garden, with sun loungers, BBQ, large table, chairs and even a very curious, but friendly seagull. There was plenty space for the kids to relax in one living room and my wife and I in another. The host was extremely generous with commodities you normally expect to have to purchase yourself including a bottle of wine, coffee beans, dishwasher tablets, washing powder, toilet rolls etc. I was a very short walk from the village harbour with a good selection of pubs, eateries and the beach. My family and I had a great time and would not hesitate to come again in the future.

Nothing at all - it was superb.

"Beautiful comfortable home 5 mins from the twin centre."

9.0

The accommodation was beautifully decorated with lovely design touches and art. The beds were extremely comfortable with marshmallow soft pillows. There’s a nice outdoor patio area to enjoy breakfast in the sun. lovely touches like fresh coffee and Prosecco in fridge on arrival.

on a minor note there was a drain smell in the house, particularly in the entrance.
