Hostal Doña Clarita Inn

We spent two nights here while we were hiking the Quilatoa Loop. This is an amazing place to stay in Chugchilan. You will feel so welcomed by the family who owns the hostel - they are so kind and gracious and make you feel so comfortable and at home. The vegetarian meals were huge and delicious and there was banana bread available all day as well as coffee and tea. I cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay was here. The cat Theresa is so friendly and the sweetest little boy lives here!!

We liked everything! The people there are super cute and helpful, the rooms are super comfortable and well thought through and the food is just incredible! For all the vegetarian hikers, I wouldn’t even think one second and book this place again - it was the best vegetarian food I have eaten in south america :)

Excellent stay with lovely hosts who were very friendly and helpful. Really nothing to fault. Good evening meal and good breakfast, hot water and nice clean and comfy room.

The incredibly warm welcome of smiles and beautiful hospitality, along with a happy dog and cat, it felt like we were stepping into a home. It was the best and calmest place with A variety of teas, boiling water, drinking water, coffee, homemade cookies and banana bread upon arrival with the fire lit for us to get all cosy after our walk along the trail. Super friendly vibes, community dinner was exceptional and the vegan option was the best I’ve had in Ecuador. The views over the valley are beautiful and clear sky’s meant for tea under the stars in the evening :)

It had a fire for us to dry our clothes and warm up after being rained on. Our room even had a tiny space heater. Really nice shower. They also had local tea and banana bread and cookies and coffee all included.

We felt like we had all our needs met and really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere

Great value. We had a two-level, two-bed room with dinner and breakfast for about $38. It was very clean and spacious. Nice common area with a stove to dry clothes and tea and banana bread and cookies. Good food. They were really helpful when we realized one of the dogs hanging around was actually owned by the owner of the hostel we stayed at in Sigchos. They took care of him until his owner showed up.

It’s a very cozy space and the family/owners are so sweet and caring and I felt that the food was cooked with a lot of love. They also have a lovely cat in the common area that is up for cuddles! 😍 I felt very comfortable and would definitely recommend staying there!

The only thing was that the bedding was synthetics and my skin does not like that, but for one night it was fine.
