"Lovely cottage in a quiet area with everything you need, although really does need a second shower and a good deep clean"

8.0

Location very quiet, parking right outside property, dog friendly - You need a car to go anywhere which is fine as the price reflects this - great value for money!

No proper second shower so we had to share with our friends.

"Great location, issues sorted quickly and without any dramas. Would recommend for a stay in an area steeped in history."

8.0

Location is great, with easy access to all of the sights and places that we wanted to see. Service station shop for emergency buts and a decent pub in Lucker ( 5mins) - also appreciated the Bamburgh bangers ! Rooms are all a decent size and the downstairs bedroom and en suite was great for the more senior members of our group. Some great views from the upstairs bedrooms.

We had a few issues when we first arrived which set things off on a bit of a wrong - but these were quickly rectified and resolved by calling the issues in. Thanks to Liam ( If I remember his name correctly!) for coming with the bedding, towels and other basics. ( also thanks to Franklyn for escalating our issues when we called) One thing that wasn’t immediately noticed by us was the sink upstairs being blocked - something mentioned in a previous review and obviously not sorted by the previous owners since then and apparently as it has just changed hands, so the current owners probably haven’t yet had chance ( benefit of the doubt given) . We made do. Also as previously mentioned in other reviews- parking is a bit tight with no allocated spots-and current work in neighbouring field covers cars in dust- but that is something you just get on with as life is too short🤣

"Very nice and peaceful stay in a great location."

10.0

Its location. It was very quiet. The bedrooms were a great size.

The steps inside the property covered with a metal strip. Both my youngest children cut their toes on them.

"Had a lovely time with our young three generational little family. Few things about location and property a drawback bu"

8.0

Lovely comfy beds and plenty of fluffy white towels. Smart bathroom and good shower room en suite. Very clean and tidy. Good location for exploring Northumberland coast and countryside.

Dead plants around the small courtyard and benches and picnic tables need maintenance. Downstairs bedroom lovely but all noise from upstairs bedroom carries down with very creaky floorboards, but it is an old property. No chopping boards or oven trays in kitchen. Location next to main B road so can be noisy at rush hour times. Farm barn behind with maintenance vehicles, rubble and sheep!

"A couple of things to address, particularly the building work over the fence, but overall a good find and we would stay"

8.0

The cottage is clean, cosy and comfortable. Excellent location for visiting Bamburgh, Seahouses, and for getting on the A1 for longer journeys, whilst being much cheaper than staying in the centre of Bamburgh. It is well furnished, the bed is comfortable and the pillows are good quality and comfortable. Lovely modern bathrooms, and everything worked well. Shower in the en suite was excellent. We would definitely stay again.

Location - The development of cottages is literally just over the fence from some kind of building work being undertaken. We were awoken on 2 of our 3 mornings at 8am by heavy machinery breaking up large rocks, like sleeping next to a quarry. This continued all day. I’m not sure whether this is a short term thing, but it really wasn’t great. Our car also ended up covered in a thick layer of sandy coloured dust from the rocks being broken up on the other side of the fence. Parking - Many of the cottages in the development have specific, reserved parking spaces, but Stewards Cottage doesn’t seem to. It was a bit of a struggle on a couple of occasions to get parked, even though numerous spaces allocated for other cottages never seemed to be used. This was a little frustrating. Dishwasher - The dishwasher desperately needs a good quality cleaner putting through it. It looks clean, but when used is very smelly (it made the whole downstairs of the cottage smell) and the dishes (particularly glassware) came out still dirty. Bed - The bed in the main bedroom is very comfortable, and has comfortable pillows, but be aware that it is 2 single beds pushed together, with a double sheet over them, and a double duvet.
