Faros Bodrum Hotel - Special Category

The design, room size and service were great. We enjoyed every second of it.

The sunbeds on the pier were full before 9. We had to get up very early to ensure a spot for the day

The staff are friendly and attentive. Guest relations are exemplary. Rooms are clean, modern and easily accessed. The decor is up-to-date and has a real beach club vibe. Food is not bad. The restaurant is nice. The location is fabulous as it is on the beach and the sea is beautiful. The pool area is lovely and quiet, the children had a great time. I would go back if the following was fixed.

Whilst the hotel and the staff were fabulous there were lots of points that made it difficult at times. A service charge is included with any beverage you buy at the beach bar. Water is expensive to buy and we were reaching 38 degrees of heat. They don't like you bringing your own water or drinks or food to the beach pier. I think offering free water is a good policy for the future. The pier is the main area where guests spend their day. At least half of the visitors were not guests. Staff reserved sun loungers for people who dropped in from outside, whilst there were times when hotel guests had nowhere to sit. The pier is noisy, music is really loud. There are no fans installed at the restaurant outdoors. The beach pier area also becomes a restaurant at 6 pm and they ask you to leave your lounger so that they can set it up with tables. Basically, your beach day finishes at 6 p.m. unless you find a lounger elsewhere. The evening restaurant is a beautiful setting on the pier but it's empty. every night. I think the main reason for this is that food is standard but unbelievably expensive for a family of 6. If it wasn't for the lovely staff and office team we might have left.

Very friendly staff, easy acess to the beach

The place itself is a bit untidy and worn (looks like the manager was away as they started fixing the lawn etc and being busy at some stage of our stay). It’s a nice place but very overpriced imho, but Bodrum is very overpriced itself, also very far away from any facilities such as restaurants, good supermarkets and shops.
