Great location, close to places but also lovely and quiet. Barn was great for 7 of us, rooms were beautiful and spacious and the outside space was great also. Had everything we needed and more for a fun but relaxing week away as a family.

We had a lovely stay! The property is in a peaceful countryside location, overlooking a field with sheep and an alpaca. We were very impressed with how well equipped the property is, particularly in the kitchen, making cooking much easier. We also really enjoyed relaxing in the sauna. Cyntra is a fantastic host and was very quick in responding to any queries we had before and during the stay. An extra special touch, was the gorgeous homemade lemon cake that was given on arrival- Thank you!

Very comfortable and welcoming accommodation, ideal for big groups. Cyntra is a great host and was really helpful whilst we were planning, recommending local things to do, places to eat and taxi firms. She also left us fresh flowers and a home made cake which were very thoughtful additions. Well thought out and tasteful furnishings and kitchen/bathrooms with everything you need. The kitchen is particularly well stocked with plenty of glasses and crockery. Loads of firewood and the wood burning stove is easy to light. The sauna is fun to use and heats up easily. Loved the rescue sheep and Alpaca who were so friendly! The house is set in large grounds with a wooded area which was great for the 2 dogs we bought with us. We visited the Cooper King Distillery which is a 10 minute walk from the house and well worth a visit. £20pp for a tour with 7 gin/whiskey tastings! It was really fun. We also went to the Durham Ox is nearby Crayke for dinner, this is a gorgeous gastro pub with extremely good food and lots of specials/fish/seafood/steak etc. They also do magnum's of champagne which again was fun with a group! York is only 20 minutes and we had Sunday lunch at the Star Inn on the City which was very good with lovely views of the river. This is a lovely part of the country, Sutton on the Forest and surrounding villages are very pretty!

The fourth bedroom is on the gallery above the lounge with just a curtain so is noisy if there are people downstairs. There are no local taxi firms so if you are considering taxi's they have to come from York so are expensive.
