In one word “EVERYTHING” The property is beautiful and location is perfect with awesome mountain view and views of the nearby islands, The rooms were comfortable and spacious. The restaurant was beautiful and the food delicious and the wait staff were very attentive. Again, “EVERYTHING” was awesome including the heated pool in the evenings.

It's an incredible beautiful place to stay, super friendly staff, beautiful rooms.

The only small thing I will suggest will be to put a courtain on the other door to our balcony, it was quite bright in the morning.

Friendly and helpful staff. Quiet location, but nice super-close access to the muelle (Ucaz) to Janitzio. This is the mellow one, not the Patzcuaro Town one. There you can get a private boat - dog friendly! - to do anything you'd like.

This is a new small boutique place and it shows. While everything is crisp and fresh (and beautifully designed architecture wise) the service level is not what you would expect for 300 USD per night. We originally booked because of the "dog friendly" on their site, which I confirmed vía WhatsApp. But when we arrived they seemed surprised by our two dogs (22 and 32 kg). Our room did NOT have the private dipping pool advertised, it was for all guests which in Mexico means screaming kids. So they moved us to a different room at our request. We appreciated this since it was between xmas and new years and I am sure their occupancy was high. The new room was better but we never got the Internet/TV connection to work, despite their attempts at usong a booster, etc. The bathtub was beautiful and had hot water sometimes. But when you went to drain it it leaked out - significantly! - onto the floor from some unseen location/problem. We just wiped this up since we didn't want to invite more troubles. The last comment I will make is the restaurant on site. Good food. But even in this high season it was open at indiscernable times. Our last night I was informed (after enquiring myself) that the kitchen would be closing at 5pm. Not ideal since I asked at 4:30pm. All the above said, the lake and its people ate special. And this is a unique establoshment that will be great when it grows up. FWIW, we have been living in Mexico for 9 years and have taken many lakeshore vacations from Bacalar to Valle Bravo, Chapala, and another that I wont mention because it should remain unknown-ish!

Plus, the fact that it is pet-friendly made it all the more appealing, allowing us to bring our furry friend along. La Casa Del Lago isn’t just a getaway; it’s a memorable escape for couples and families alike. It surpassed all our expectations, and we are already eagerly anticipating our return. This experience has undoubtedly etched itself in our hearts as one of the best we’ve ever had.
