The fact there were families living in the property we had booked and had been for 8months

Is this a joke? We found out 24 hours before arrival that this property was not available, having booked this property on 2nd May (3 weeks before travelling)and money leaving our bank account 2 days before our booking. Also, over this 3 week period we received emails from booking.com and also messages from the property agency through the booking.com app in reference to our upcoming stay and that all was good and no issues. The property agency made the excuse that they had attempted to contact me a.couple of days before our booking but contact number on booking.com was wrong, however, all prior correspondence (automated or not) was via the booking.com app so really they had no excuse as to get in contact, and actually we found out from them just 24 hours before arrival that the property wasn’t available via a message through the app. To date (25th May) we have heard nothing from booking.com since contacting them on the morning of Saturday23rd despite being promised we would receive an email from them within 45 minutes from the time of our complaint. No refund has been received either. And now we have been asked to comment on our stay at this property!!!!
