The Rider's Retreat at Danebury

Really great place. Very private and quiet.

If it's raining then expect to get muddy and get the car dirty. However, it's a farm so it's expected. This didn't bother me at all really.

The front door was difficult to lock.

the sitting and dining area was comfortable, the kitchen of good standard (though there could usefully have been a few more cooking utensils!, like an oven-proof dish, for example.) Bathroom and toilet were clean and good. Ample cupboard space

We both feel that the temporary plastic steps up to gain access to the mobile home were not safe; they were slippery in the wet and mud, but also the step up into the doorway was very high, and would have been impossible for anyone with mobility problems. It needs more permanent steps, reaching higher to the doorway and with a handrail.

The mobile home was comfortable with a spacious living room, and plenty of beds. A nice peaceful location in the country side, overlooking a horse paddock. The space was clean and had all basic necessities. Robert was a friendly and communicative host. Car is essential for staying here as the farm is off a country road.
