Appartamento “Al Duomo” Catania

The apartment was huge and freshly decorated. Rooms were all a good size. Air conditioning in each bedroom. Location was excellent too.

One of the bathrooms had a bad odour coming from the drains.

Booking through Booking.com we had free transport from the airport right to the door of accommodation. With good communication from staff we found our key. Following instructions we needed the keys to use lift each time as well as 2 fire door into apartment. The kitchen is very well equipped nice patio door letting sunshine in for morning. Modern appliances including sandwich maker, coffee pot great fridge freezer, dishwasher. Plenty of cups glasses plates etc. Bedrooms were so clean and comfortable. Bedside lamps, side tables, nice shelving, good size wardrobes. Very comfortable for four of us using 3 bedrooms for 1 week. There are 2 bathrooms, one has a shower and other has a jacuzzi bath and is very nicely decorated. Plenty of bath towels, hand towels and face cloths. Beautiful lighting throughout the apartment which is very spacious. 2 bedrooms look over the main street in Catania, Via Etna between 2 piazza. There are small narrow balconies with these rooms. 1 of the bedrooms includes a comfortable sitting area. It very a very large room. Great light in these rooms during the day. There is a tour company just around the corner and on the ground floor on the street there is a cafe/bar. The staff are very prompt answering our questions. The Uber to airport on our last day cost 22 euro.

Great location, in the town centre of Catania. Easy to access local tours, plenty of shops and restaurants. Our host Ricardo was courteous, professional and supported our every need.

A little noisy at night due to its location. Bonus was hearing some great local entertainers playing outside your door. Usually things got quieter after 11pm or so.

We kept a close communication with Ricardo, via What's App. A bus ride from Palermo and Ricardo met us at the appt. Nice and welcoming person. Perfect location in the heart of Catania Historic.

Small issue with Netflix/Amazon. Could not connect through our accounts. Ricardo came to help but had to give us an HDMI cable so we could connect through our computer.

A host was easily available and gave us the keys even ahead of schedule so we could leave our bags. The apartment has already seen its best days, but still is high class, in a perfect location in the very historic centre. It is clean. Kitchen is fully equipped. Views from small balconies are incredible, with Etna in the background! Beds are comfortable. Some things are brand new (wifi, heating, fridge), some already aged a little (Jacuzzi in a bathroom). Place feels authentic and it was a joy to stay there.

As a tourist, I found the quirks rather a part of the charm of the place than a problem. It is advised to confirm in advance if air conditioning / heating works properly. There is a nice, new wifi mesh, but the apartment is so big we had to move an access point closer to bedroom / kitchen to have a coverage there.

We loved the apartment, it’s huge, it’s incredibly central, clean, well equipped, beds were comfortable ! Re would recommend to anyone going to Catania

Beautiful apartment, furnishings, and location!

The apartment is huge with all amenities. It is like being at home. It is situated in Via Etnea very near Piazza Duomo. Restaurants, shops and monuments are around. The owners are very helpful as well. 100% recommended. We will be back!❤️

I love everything...I only didn't like that the holiday was over.
