Cosy Haven in TS5 Middlesbrough

The location was excellent, and the free parking was a real bonus. The host was responsive throughout my stay and receptive to constructive feedback regarding some maintenance issues. When I reported that the radiators were not working due to a faulty TRV (Thermostatic Radiator Valve) head, the host arranged for a plumber promptly and the issue was resolved during my stay. I appreciated the host's willingness to address concerns quickly.

Unfortunately, the property did not match my expectations based on the listing. On arrival, it appeared somewhat tired and in need of general maintenance and refurbishment. Cleanliness could also be improved, as I noticed cobwebs on the bathroom extractor fan, which suggested that some areas were being overlooked during cleaning. The bed was the biggest disappointment for me. The mattress felt very soft and worn, the duvet was quite thin, and the bedding and pillows appeared old and lacked comfort. As I was staying for work, I chose to remain at the property, but I did not find the sleeping arrangements particularly comfortable. There were also issues with the bathroom. Water regularly accumulated on the floor after showering, requiring additional towels. This seemed to be the result of poor workmanship rather than a maintenance issue and may continue to affect future guests if not addressed. While the location is excellent and the host was responsive, the property would benefit significantly from investment in maintenance, updated furnishings, improved bedding, and a general refresh. I hope the feedback provided is taken on board, as the property has potential, but unfortunately I would not choose to stay here again.

Very disappointing experience. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable and the bedding was old, thin, and worn, making the room unsuitable for a proper night’s sleep. Had to leave the property to find alternative accommodation the same night. Customer service was equally poor. Rather than addressing the condition of the room and bedding, the host focused on excuses about timing and avoided resolving the actual issue. Booking.com acknowledged the complaint, but the host refused to properly engage or approve a full refund.

Strong smell of marijuana in the apartment

Located off the main street and reasonably quiet. Hob worked. Water both hot and cold.

The apartment was very tatty and not the very clean. The washing machine was not usable. Management replied to an issue but never resolved it.

Literally nothing.

Smell, greasy surfaces, mouldy skirting boards, heating really high (I assume to dry out damp), broken radiator. Lino and placemats warped from previous times being damp

There were ants all over the place

The duvet was a mess, not good value for money at all
