Bective Mill Glamping & Camping

This part of Meath is really lovely. The setting for the site is great and only a short drive to Navan.

Bective Mill Glamping is set in a beautiful location just a short drive from Navan, offering a site with great potential. The glamping pods are a fantastic idea, and the natural surroundings add to the charm. However, the site is in serious need of cleaning, maintenance, and general attention. The pod we stayed in had a nice design but clearly required a deep clean both inside and out. The decking area also needed washing and repainting, and the outdoor furniture, particularly the garden seats, was extremely dirty—despite being the type that's easy to maintain with a simple weekly rinse. The gravel around the pods was overgrown with weeds, making the area appear neglected, and the BBQ and parking areas also required weeding and tidying. Exploring the grounds, including the Mill and what seemed to be a communal campers’ kitchen, I was genuinely shocked at the state of disrepair. Graffiti marked part of the Mill—a simple fix that had been ignored. The contrast between the well-kept grassy camping area and the neglected surrounding spaces was stark. Customer service was notably lacking; we arrived on a Friday and left on Sunday without ever being greeted or checked in on. The mobile home that appears to serve as reception was uninviting and not clearly staffed, leaving us unsure of who to approach if needed. Having camped and glamped all over Ireland, I found that Bective Mill Glamping fell well short of the standard expected. One other issue to note is the hot box sauna, which brings in many outside visitors throughout the day and evening. This made the car park near the pods busy and detracted from the sense of relaxation. In summary, Bective Mill Glamping has the potential to be a wonderful retreat in a beautiful setting. However, it currently falls short due to the lack of cleanliness, poor maintenance, and minimal guest engagement.

Glamping pod was very good. Clean and had everything we needed. Both beds were very comfortable. Even the sofa bed. Great location for visiting the hill of yara and other places of interest.

There seemed to be ongoing work at the glamping pods and their surroundings. Tools left lying around but hopefully this work will be completed soon and area look more tidy.

Was such a beautiful location, so peaceful and very comfortable and clean in the pods. So nice to be by the river as well and use the sauna. Very friendly staff.

There was no fridge, just a freezer.

Gas BBQ, amenities in the accommodation

The grass area had a lot of dog poo so my daughter couldn’t really run around and play Barbecue was used on the first day and didn’t get cleaned. We just reused it on the second day
