Big Private Room In Town Centre

I needed a last minute room for a couple of nights near to the train station for close access to Southampton, and this place was ideal for that. The room that you see in the main photo is exactly what I got. A big comfy and cosy bed, PLUS an armchair, sofa, desk to work at, etc. and plenty of room. Its location on the ground floor meant it was quiet, and the bathroom is also on the ground floor. Very friendly hosts who couldn’t do enough, and they are so obviously house proud and who wouldn’t be with a home like theirs. Staying here didn’t feel like a booking, but rather an invite as their guest in which I was made to feel most welcome. Thank you for allowing me in to your beautiful home.

The owners of the property were friendly.

There was no sheet on the bed, just an empty dirty duvet cover. The pillows smelt of dirty hair. The towel very small so that was a privacy issue travelling through to the back of a shared house. The curtains were decorative, not functional and tied open so light was a real issue. The room was very dirty. Tea was available but there was no milk. The TV was not working and the WiFi code did not work. It is unacceptable to be expected to use dirty blankets with out a sheet. I did not sleep at the property.

I didn't. Put in a complaint..

No locks on the room door and no key to get in the house. No freedom of movement without the property owner letting me in himself

It was a beautiful place and the host's are a beautiful couple thanks for your hospitality.

Centre of town

No breakfast available. The room is a sitting room conversion with the bathroom at the far end of the house and shared with the family.

The hosts were very welcoming. The location was great for access to shops, buses and railway ( one stop to the airport). The street was quiet.

Had to go through the kitchen to get to the bathroom though I got the impression that the hosts were politely keeping out the when I was using facilities. I appreciate that it's someone's home but far too over cluttered for my taste.
