Cosy Cotswolds Getaway - Stow-on-the-Wold - Eagle Cottage

Lovely modern property with great parking options (we had 2 cars). Arrival was very easy with the instructions given to us and we had lots of tea/coffee/sugar too! The location was also excellent, barely a 10 minute drive to the gorgeous nearby villages. With the code-activated gates it felt very secure and everything in the cottage was really comfortable, we’ll definitely be back!

The pictures of the location were accurate. The building is nice and the setting ok. The large kitchen in the living room is modern and even has a washing machine included. The fridge was on and cold already. It took us some time to find salt and pepper but it was there..

The property is located directly (about 10m away) at a very busy highway and it was increadibly noisy. When sleeping in the bedroom towards to highway it sounds like the cars run directly through your bed. The traffic starts at about 5:30 in the morning and runs until just before midnight. And that was our weekend experience. You can literally only sleep with closed windows but then its becoming very hot. This fact was nowhere mentioned in the description (at least we did not find it). All windows (except 2 small roof windows over the beds and one in the bath) are closed and key-locked so we couldn´t open them. When we arrived it was warm and steamy in the house but we coudln´t ventilate other than through opening the front door. There are two ventilators in the house but that is just for moving the steamy air. All in all this killed our weekend and given the very high price we can only recommend this property to people who have no issue with noise.

Loved everything. The location, the comfort, all the amenities you could need. Kitchen was fully stocked. The hosts were also so accommodating. Any time i needed assistance or a query, they answered almost immediately.

If I could recommend a bath mat & additional toilet rolls for long staying guests.

Fabulous location. Close to all the main towns. Very comfortable of an evening.

It was central to a lot of places we wanted to visit. It was perfect for a family of 4.

Would like the main gates to be closed as the road is quite fast.

Location is in the heart of Cotswold.

Would have preferred if the property didn’t smell of pets, as I have pet hair allergy. Hindsight I should have looked for locations specifying this.
