Renovated 2 BR home close to Lancaster attractions

The duplex apartment was spacious and comfortable. The location was nearby several attractions, shopping, and restaurants.

We wished we had seen the noise machines before the morning we packed up to leave. The traffic made it difficult for us to get good rest. We were just not used to such a busy road. We would also recommend blackout curtains for the bedrooms since the lights from the passing vehicles still shone through the closed blinds.

The kitchen was nice and it’s clear the house has been remodeled. I liked the open concept. If you want to be near shops, restaurants, and attractions it’s a great location but it’s on a very busy street so it’s loud.

The living room smelled strongly of animal urine which we noticed as soon as we entered. There was an air purifier on the kitchen table when we arrived, so I believe the owners were aware there was an issue with an odor likely coming from the area rug. The king bed frame was broken as you could see the parts underneath on the floor so the bed sagged in the middle. The King room had a closet with few hangers and mostly boxes of paper towels and toilet paper and fans. It was more like a storage closet than a closet for guests to hang clothing. The dresser had one drawer available and the rest were full of linens. The king room walls were dirty. There was a garbage bag laying outside on the backyard steps. It’s loud. If you’re looking for a quaint Amish country setting this is not for you. The owners communicated with me at the beginning and on the last day. I messaged the owners as soon as we left to tell them we had departed and that I had major concerns and I would send them a message that evening before leaving a review. I detailed my concerns on Tuesday evening and it’s been days and I’ve received no response or apology. Unacceptable.

The house was in great condition, near all attractions and places to visit. The house had everything we needed.

The property is well equipped and the location is decent. There’s an Aldi’s just behind & check in was a breeze. Prior to the stay, the host didn’t respond to my enquiries despite me messaging twice. Was instructed to strip the sheets off the bed upon checkout, and to my horror, discovered used tissue, hair, dirt, dust and party decorations under the sheet. Informed host but no apology or explanation.

Very clean, beautiful and well decorated house!
