The Heilan' Coo Apartment

Absolutely nothing major false advertising do not book it doesn’t show the area very run down and fearing for your life and belongings as soon as you arrive they rang me two days prior to ask if I could go to alternative accommodation I refused due to the space we required and location there was no internet had to hit spot my phone which had no service the bed was like sleeping on a concrete slab and we didn’t dare go outside over fear of been ambushed there was dog excrement left all out side our car stay clear was a complete waste of money we only stay the one night as we cope with the place.

The area

The beds were terrible, very lumpy and uncomfortable. The apartment had one very small saucepan, one wine glass, and not enough plates for even 4 people. The area was awful. It felt unsafe. This apartment was overpriced and not clean. We are very disappointed and would not recommend this apartment.

We saw the property and immediately looked for accommodations elsewhere.

This property is owned by a real estate agency and is located in a very bad part of town. It’s located within a series of low-income housing project buildings and the area is known for homelessness, drugs, crime. A local cab driver described the area as “Bosnia”.

Helensburgh is a nice location although the property is out of the way. Reasonably quiet, general facilities were good.

No terrestrial television. No privacy to bathroom window. External impression not that appealing. Mattresses are a little soft and need replacing.

Apartment was mostly clean, mostly functional and quite close to town. Short drive to supermarket. TV with Netflix etc. (might have actually had to log in myself, can't remember now). Several takeaway options nearby. On-street parking.

The apartment is right in a dilapidated council estate, photos do not capture this and make it seem like it's in a picturesque setting, it is NOT - the first thing we saw on arrival was a couple of kids in the (concrete) back garden doing a drug deal!!! Didn't receive the lockbox code, had to contact the host for the code on arrival (this was around 5pm). The kitchen bin hadn't been emptied for our arrival. The oven needed its timer programmed before it would work - oven controls were all worn away so total guesswork as to how to do this or get it working, or what setting it was actually on - had it on just fan mode for 40 mins before we realised nothing was cooking. Hob needed a separate lighter to ignite - there was one there but it was very obviously broken. Luckily had one in the van or we'd have been scuppered. Couch etc. not particularly comfortable. The host contacted us afterwards to imply we snuck extra guests in, stating both the master bed and both single beds had been used; we had used a duvet from the single bed as a blanket in the living room as the flat was *freezing* on our arrival, and ultimately ended up sleeping in separate rooms for part of the night, still only one single bed very lightly used.

Outside first impressions,rough council estate. But reassured by locals,secure for motorbikes.
