Casa Iris - central apartment with panoramic views

Lovely little apartment. Great view off the balcony and sun all day

The bed was very uncomfortable

The property is perfectly located for bars, restaurants, shops and the sea. It has a great view and is quiet. The pool is lovely but not in the winter months!

The property comes with a TV that did not receive any channels and has no instructions. The shower door is very heavy and does not open or close without a lot of effort. This was the same when we stayed nine months earlier and has not been dealt with. The toaster works but only if you keep your fingers on the buttons whilst the bread is in. They aren’t really major but they are annoying when they have already been raised to the management company.

Good Points: The View - Amazing views down to the sea. Storage - Owner has added additional storage so there should be plenty of room for holidaymakers belongings. There is also the use of a safe free of charge. Relaxing - Very quiet complex. Although we never used them there seemed to be plenty of sunbeds for guests. WiFi - Free WiFi internet in the apartment with good speeds. We were able to run an Amazon Dot speaker and Amazon Fire TV stick with no issues. Fan in the bedroom - needed during the hot spell. Mid Holiday Clean - We booked 2 weeks and after the first week a cleaner came to clean the apartment and change the beds and towels. This was unexpected and appreciated. Washing Machine - A washing machine is always a bonus when away for 2 weeks.

The Steps! - OK, to achieve the amazing views there are steps to climb. 64 steps from the road entrance to the pool level and a further 16 steps up to the apartment. We knew of these before travelling but obviously our minds are younger than our bodies and we found them to be a bit of a strain day after day. If you are fit they shouldn't present a problem, but bear them in mind, especially when arriving with your luggage. Apartment a bit tired - The apartment itself is a bit tired and showing its age. Original tiny kitchen not really suitable for cooking. Lack of electrical sockets, only 1 in the dining area, one in the bathroom and one in the bedroom. The others are taken up with apartment equipment. If you want to run the fan in the bedroom and also an anti-mosquito plug and charge your devices at night, you will need multi-adapters/extensions to be able to do this. Shower door doesn't close but there is enough screen to prevent the bathroom floor getting wet. Water issues - Again indicative of apartment age there were temporary water disruptions during the day, and we had no hot water for the last 3 days of our holiday. Agents described it as a community issue.

Lovely location and pool, very close to beach and restaurants, but quiet and laid back. Great balcony with amazing view! It was great to have a double bed (when so many other 'double beds in Lanzarote are actually twin beds pulled together but with a canyon in the middle - this instead was very comfortable), lovely breeze throughout the apartment which made it easy to cool down the high temperatures and sleep well. Great communication with Nicole and Tracy. Many thanks for allowing us the late check out too, much appreciated. Well stocked flat - all you need to cook and eat at home, incl. some products, like salt, oil, sugar, coffee, and products in the bathroom, like shower gel and shampoo.

Furniture slightly dated (this was clear from the pictures so not a surprise) and too many cushions and extra items of furniture and decoration on arrival in the flat for our taste. This was not a big problem at all, because the wardrobes are very big and you can put all the extra sofa cushions and carpets and old table chair cushions away on arrival. The sofa blanket had not been dried out properly so it was smelly and making the flat smelly on arrival (but again we removed it and all was fine). All in all getting rid of these items would improve the comfort and aesthetics of the flat, but we still liked the place and would choose to come back and also recommend it to other guests.

Its a lovely quiet spot but very handy for the Strip and just up the road from Cafe Ola. Great sea views and also a view of the pool. Also, there is a nice large Spar supermarket underneath - super handy!

The only reason that I haven't given a 'perfect score' as a holiday destination is the amount of steps there are to climb...; I counted 80 from the roadside to the apartment entrance......but hey! - how are you going to get a sea view without climbing a few steps! Just a heads up tho....not for everyone :-)

Amazing location, nice pool area, beautiful views of the sea, there are stairs to get up but other than when we had to lug our big case up they weren’t really an issue.

As we stayed for 10 days I used the hoover, as I was trying to push it over the rug and it wasn’t picking it up well I noticed the rug was absolutely filthy, so we pushed that to one side. Other areas were generally clean, bathroom could probably do with a deeper clean in the shower cubicle area but tbh it just looked that dated way when it gets grotty in the grout and seals. Although the pool area is nice our first day a lady moved my towel off a lounger then came over to the pool to tell me I’d placed my towel on her lounger - some of them had apartment numbers indicating they belonged to other apartments however this one never! Pool is freezing. No way to latch the bedroom window open so it’s either open and slamming in the wind or shut and when it’s hot that fan alone doesn’t help

The location is ideal for us

The property was very badly cleaned, dirty pans and cutlery. Also, no key available for safe and toaster was faulty. Contacted the property management company but did not get a response

The property is elevated with a view over the communal pool and out to the sea. We were a little concerned reading reviews of the access to the property but the more than adequate balcony and views more than compensate for the use of the stairs. The property is comfortable and clean. During our stay it was extremely peaceful.

The age of the property means there are limited plug sockets. You cannot use the toaster and the kettle at the same time for example. There is only one socket in the bedroom that we could find. Don’t be put off by the reviews mentioning the steps. Unless you have real mobility issues or really heavy suitcases they shouldn’t be a problem.
