Ice Alley Home Città Alta

Lovely home. Great location in the very heart of the old town.

Not a problem for our group but the home is 3 stories up and there is no lift.

We liked the location, the view and proximity to the restaurants, city square, churches and museums. We stayed for one night but were able to go to dinner and catch the morning coffee and pastry.

We had a little bit of trouble following instructions on how to open the lockbox. It worked on the third try. I think instructions should mention that you need to press clear button before each retry. We also had 2 cars to park. We tried to park on the street, but it was only for locals. I would suggest to include parking recommendation for city alta pay garage and tell people where the luggage can be dropped off before parking the car. Walking up and down the streets with luggage was a challenge.

The location is absolutely perfect for enjoying Citta Alta. Right next to a fantastic Pizzaria and a minute walk away from a cafe that has the best pistachio croissants I've ever had. The apartment had plenty of space and amenities, although we didn't really spend much time in the apartment as we were out exploring Bergamo most of the time.

I appreciate that when we visited there was unusually hot weather, so we did miss having no air conditioning. However there were plenty of big fans provided which was fine for me, but made it a little bit more difficult for one of our party to get to sleep. The only other very minor issue was that there was a bit of pre-existing damage to one of the plug sockets which I thought might have been dangerous had I had a small child with me. But it wasn't an issue for us.

Very nice apartment close to the city center, clean and tidy, comfortable beds, good contact with the nice, helpful owner. The apartment was equipped with all amenities, we were very pleased.

The location is excellent, right by Piazza Vecchia, where the Basilica di Santa Maria Majore and the Duomo di Bergamo Alta are located. Both are worth a visit. The host, Veronica, was very responsive and stayed awake for our arrival at midnight, even though the main entrance could be opened by phone and the apartment key was in a box with a code. The spacious apartment has two large bedrooms, a huge living/dining room, two modern bathrooms (one with two shower cabins), a small kitchen, and a balcony. The kitchen has a large fridge, stove, microwave oven, coffee and tea makers, silverware and glassware, and a small selection of pots and pans. There is no conventional oven. There were basic condiments but no oil and vinegar. Very close by is a Carrefour Express, where you can get basic groceries if you want to cook. The store has no sign, but it can be found on Google Maps. Right by it there is a small store with cooked food, Gastronomia Mangili, that proved to be very good.

There is no elevator, and the apartment is on the third floor. We knew that when we booked, just a warning for people with limited mobility. There is no parking at the property but the host arranged a special rate, 20Euro/day, at a nearby parking garage. No complains, the rate was very good for the area.

Great location in the centre of Citta Alta. Beautiful view of the roofs and walls of Bergamo. Excellent contact with the host (Thank you for everything Veronica :) ) Perfect place for a bigger group - the apartment is very spacious (extra point for 2 bathrooms). Perfectly clean.
