One Three Nine On Roberts

I like the setup of the Guest Lodge. It was very clean and spot on. There was a fireplace with wood but no suggestion that was made for us to make a fire. It was there to look smart only.

I didn't like the fact that the owner did not provide a heater in the guest lodge at all knowing that Pietermaritzburg is very cold in Winter. I've spoken to Amanda as the Manager on site because it was extremely cold. She told me no they don't have heaters but there was no compassion on us as the guests from her or the owner even to check up on her guests knowing that it was very cold due to the snowfall nearby or to even offer to go and buy a small heater. Secondly there's no TV in this lodge for entertainment but only Netflix which wasn't working and only YouTube which was really bad. We couldn't even watch the weather forecast as we were stuck in Pietermaritzburg due to the road closures with the snow at Howick and Van Reenens we couldn't drive to JHB. I surely saddened us. No effort was made to intervene which was very sad. I was suffering with a painful shoulder operation which I had a few wks ago but yeah that's what I had to tolerate.

Took very long for hot water to reach taps. To me a terrible waste of water.

The room was beautiful and clean. The bed was very comfortable and cosy. The room had everything I needed for my stay and the extra details, such as biscuits and chocolates, were a lovely touch. Amanda was so helpful and made sure that, as a woman travelling alone, I felt safe.

The wooden floors are beautiful but they can be a bit noisy. However, this is a very minor issue.

Check in and check out process was clear. Very neat and clean. Aesthetics are excellent. They provide you with everything to make your stay comfortable.

The side tables are a bit flimsy. The one room's bathroom was not en-suite. Was a bit difficult for privacy
