Great location in the shadows of seoul stn. Delightful owners welcoming and always available, perfectly petite room with all i needed.

Only staying 3 nites. 🙂

Incredible location, very central and easy to find! The owners were so sweet and wonderful (their dog is so cute too!), they checked in on us and upgraded our room to a bigger space. They changed our towels daily and there was complementary water in the fridge along with necessary toiletries! The facility was quiet and clean, there were direct buses to Hongdae and just steps from Seoul Station. Walkable distance to Namdaemun Market and N-tower. They recently renovated the space and the shower had great pressure and temperature. Air conditioning worked perfectly and the fridge had ample space. There was someone at front desk at all times, so it was a very safe environment. Very clean with no bugs or smell. Would highly recommend this place and would book again in the future!!!

The bed and pillows are firm, so if you’re not use to it, would recommend brining your own pillow and blanket. We didn’t mind it at all!

We booked Kyelim Guest House as the final stop on a wonderful trip across Japan and Korea, expecting a modest but pleasant stay — especially since it was meant to be where I would spend a milestone birthday. While it’s a low-budget guesthouse, we chose it over cheaper options for what looked like better comfort and convenience. Sadly, it ended up being the worst stay of our entire journey. Despite being advertised as recently renovated, the room was in disgusting and unsafe condition. The wallpaper was stained and peeling, and one of the windows was completely dislodged, unable to close properly — a serious safety and comfort issue. Several nails were sticking out of the walls, posing a real injury risk. The bathroom had a strong, unpleasant smell that filled the room, and there was absolutely no sound insulation — we could hear every footstep and conversation in the hallway. The bed was rock-hard and extremely uncomfortable. The room was also advertised as 13 m², but it felt significantly smaller — we struggled to fit two suitcases and move around the space. The guesthouse also promotes a beautiful rooftop terrace with views of Namsan Tower, both in their listing and in the pre-arrival messages they sent — yet during our stay, the terrace was completely inaccessible, and the view from the window was nothing like the photos. Additionally, getting to the guesthouse requires a steep uphill climb, and there’s no elevator inside, making it exhausting to carry luggage — an important detail not made clear in the listing. The reception was cold and unwelcoming, making us feel like we were intruding rather than checking in as guests. We’ve had fantastic experiences traveling across Japan and Korea with Booking.com, even in basic and low-cost accommodations. This was the only place that felt misleading, poorly maintained, and downright uncomfortable.
