Maison Matie B&B Ercolano

Wonderful accommodations. Very well thought out and comfortable. Terraces were lovely and the location is convenient to visit nearby Herculaneum ruins! Staff were VERY attentive and communicative. Would definitely stay here again!!

Very convenient location within a walking distance from both Herculaneum ruins and Ercolano Scavi station. Clean, spacious room. Balcony with a view of both Mount Vesuvio and the sea. Good sound-insulation in the windows. The host of very helpful and forthcoming once one could overcome the communication difficulties. He for instance organized us a taxi for a good price (it is extremely difficult to get taxis is Ercolano).

The communication with the host and the other staff was very difficult and needed the use of a translator app. Due to the lack of a common language, out check in took one hour! The host was never in the premises himself, so all communication with him was through WhatsApp using a translation app. The place was difficult to find as there is no sign except the name by the doorbell. It is just a regular flatdivided into rooms in the 3rd floor of an apartment building. The door code worked intermittenly and it required making calls to the host in order to get in. While the sound insulation in the windows and the balcony door was very good, it is non-existent between the rooms. It depends on your neighbors whether you get a good night’s sleep or not. The breakfast which could be delivered to your room from a nearby café consists of a croissant and a cup of coffee/tea, so it is a common Italian breakfast but rather meagre for travellers from elesewhere.

There was a lift Aircon good

Excessive noise. The next apartment (I think the host) was separated from ours by a flimsy internal door. We got to listen to their conversation TV and mobile phone alerts as if they were in the same room as us. Tv went off late. Their dog occasionally yipped

Very clean and absolutely good in the hospitality

Brand new construction with beautiful rooms. The staff were very kind and patient with us, using translator app to make sure as non Italian speaking travellers we understood everything clearly. Thanks again!
