The Red Cottage and Hawaiian Pond Garden Paradise!

Patrick is the best host possible that you dream of - greeted me, gave me a tour, and most importantly gave me amazing recommendations of what to do. The best part of my trip was the park he recommended with a natural hot spring, and he gave good food recommendations as well. I wish I had spent more time just chatting with him. The property is awesome, I was impressed at how natural it feels while also keeping all the critters out of the bedroom. Bathroom also is very large, and I very much enjoyed sitting outside in the kitchen. The bottled water is also a big plus before heading out for the day.

Everything was perfect! You will need a car but that’s to be expected for the area. And if you’re considering this property you probably find the natural aspect appealing, but be aware you will see critters! But that was part of the appeal for me, and as stated the property does an incredible job of keeping them out of the bedroom and bathroom, even with the lights on at night!

Quiet location with lots of birds and other animals at night. Cute rustic design.

The place didn’t look like it was cleaned properly. Hairs on the floor and toilet bowl needs more scrubbing.

Patrick è un ospite fantastico Ti accoglie come se fossi un vecchio amico ritrovato dopo molto tempo. Fornisce preziosi consigli sulle visite da fare e sui servizi nelle vicinanze. Il canto degli uccelli fa da cornice all’atmosfera del luogo. Patrick ci ha aspettato fino a tardi nonostante il cottage permetta il self check in.

Patrick, the host, is a fascinating & warm host, and the cottage is a delightful space.

Fantastic and very special place for a wonderful stay on the big island right in nature and close to the volcanoes park and hilo. So many beautiful details and a very nice host. Mind you: This is not a big corp resort (in the best sense).
