The Legacy Inn

Breakfast to late in the day to enjoy. 9:00 am

We booked what we thought was a normal hotel room in an actual hotel. What we got was a converted attic in and old house complete with short walls and ceiling that you walk in to. Several times. No elevator. I'm 70 and have two bad knees. Once we finally got up the two flights of old wooden stairs ( one flight is the grandmas house old steep skinny stairs ) I just wanted to get off of my feet and enjoy a cup of coffee. Guess not. The coffee maker doesn't work. Called the number on the email ( there is absolutely no one here, they send you a code to get inside ) they said they would contact the maintenance man, so I waited until bedtime but no replacement. Got up in the morning ( no coffee )took a shower in a shower with only half a door, shaved in a mirror that looked at my chest, packed, fought my way down the two flights of stairs and left. Still and no one on site.

There was no breakfast provided. The kitchen and lobby area was very nice.

The room was clean upon arrival. There was no housekeeping after that. We found clean towels in the second floor "stash" closet only on the second day. The front porch area was very dirty and hadn't been cleaned for a long time.

The price and responsiveness of the owner.

The parking lot did not have enough lighting but we had no issues with our vehicle there.

Proximity to Shenandoah was great.

Room was not cleaned well upon our arrival. One of the window panes in our room was completely out so we could hear everything outside as well as animals could come in. In fact, some wasps did make it inside, making our time very uncomfortable. The window in the bathroom only had a sheer curtain meaning people could see us showering from outside if they were to look in.

It’s very quiet and beds and pillows were super comfy.

The grounds need some professional attention, sweep porch and walkways for example.

No one was helpful which any of the concerns I had.

Poor communication and functioning

I appreciated the thoughtful amenities at The Legacy, especially the complimentary coffee, tea, pastries, and snacks available in the main house.

I had a decent stay, but there were a few comfort issues. The sink’s hot water pressure was low and never fully heated, and the open shower design left me feeling chilly the entire time. Even with the space heater, the room and bathroom stayed colder than I would have liked.

Very well maintained, great location, and very quiet. Would highly recommend.

The bed was super comfy, the Fitzgerald living room was a lovely surprise, extremely cozy to hang out on the sofa and read!
