Casa Campo ao Rio_Village

We were greeted with loud barking. Nevertheless, we fearlessly opened the gate and, as often experienced in Portugal, were once again attacked by excited 1 1/2 dogs who could hardly contain their joy and would have loved to lick us from head to toe. Then Luis, the host, appeared and greeted us warmly, but fortunately left it at a handshake. :D :D The flat is huge, bright, spotlessly clean and well ventilated. The furnishings are very tasteful. Everything is provided in the kitchen and we were even given wine and tea as presents. A wonderful surprise that was not mentioned at all in the description: A small river flows directly behind the (very beautiful) garden. Luis had built a staircase so that you could get in for a swim. The water was warmer than the Atlantic and very refreshing on the hot days. Many, many thanks for the wonderful days, dear Monica and Luis! You were not only helpful but incredibly welcoming and heart warming. It was a pity we had only booked 5 days. We felt very comfortable with you and will definitely be back. Até breve! What I have to complain in almost every holiday flat: Spring mattress, hard despite with and without soft topper. I don't sleep well on these things and have back pain every morning. My husband weighs 30kg more than me and forces the mattresses to give way. I always look forward to my foam mattress at home.

Comfortable, spacious and clean apartment. Friendly hosts, excellent communication. Fully equipped kitchen. Nice terrace/balcony. Rural location.

The dogs shouldn't be allowed access to the guests'accommodation, especially if one of the guests declares that he is allergic to dogs. If the dogs don't bark, the neighbour's rooster is raising the alarm. The bed is quite small, cover is also too small for two. Shampoo-dispenser in the bathroom was empty. WiFi in the bedroom is very weak. The river and wood in the vicinity of the house are not accessible: you can see the nature but cannot walk in it.
