"Drain cover needs to be checked!!!"

7.0

I used to live in one of the Fresh property in England and I prefer the layout of the room here, the bathroom extractor fan helps reduce the risk of mould growth. All amenities were provided upon arrival, shower gel, shampoo, hand wash, washing-up liquid, pots and pans, etc. very comprehensive. Overall cleanliness was decent, and the property location is excellent.

I understand that given this budget-friendly summer peak season rates, I can't expect too much, but I was still quite shocked to see the poor state of the shower head and the mouldy gaps around the shower pipes. The cleanliness was so poor that I had to purchase rubber gloves and mould remover to clean it myself (I've left them in the room, hopefully the cleaning staff won't just bin them). Even worse, the bathroom drain was completely blocked with hair, which I had to clear myself. The drain cover provided by Fresh property gets clogged far too easily with hair and debris. Checking whether the drain is blocked should be a standard procedure for every guest check-out (or at least weekly/fortnightly), otherwise it really does spoil the impression of the property.

"The location and value for money are incredible, but the bathroom and cleanliness need work."

8.0

The location was incredible! I loved the fact that there was a kitchen included

The bathroom was small and did not work. The shower wouldn’t drain and thus it was really difficult to use. It also was not the cleanest.

The room is a very good size and very good cooking good facilities.

Although there's a heater in the room, it was still very cold, and I had to keep putting the hob on to help keep the room warm.

"Great"

8.0

Awesome value for money, the facilities are great, the location is incredible, everything you need is nearby, fast and efficient communication, we really enjoyed our stay here!

The rooms might have been a little bit cleaner and the bed might have been a little bit more comfortable but other than that everything was great! These things didn't ruin our stay at all :)

"Great location, fantastic value, needs just a little more care put into it."

7.0

Location is fantastic. Plenty of good places to eat, choices for supermarkets, and popular attractions within walking distance. Even the Titanic museum is walkable, albeit a longer distance walk. Worth noting that the room I had (unsure about others) faces onto the main road outside, and quite a lot of sound was audible from within the room with the window closed. Thankfully this didn't bother me, but may be noteworthy for those more sensitive to noise when sleeping. Bathroom was clean, simple toiletries provided, no issues with sink/shower/toilet. Kitchen provided all implements that I needed for myself, though I didn't cook during my stay. Bed and bedding was acceptable, though I'll continue my thoughts below. Host company responded very quickly to all contact, and was helpful every time!

CLEANLINESS is the only real issue I had with the room. While the kitchen countertop, table, and desk were clean on arrival, some smaller surfaces, notably the small shelf in the headboard above the bed, and the shelving above the desk were dusty on arrival. The extractor fan in the bathroom was covered with dust bunnies. Spotted another on top of the radiator. Fairly sure I'd find more if I looked in the under-bed storage, but I decided against investigating further. When checking the fridge to see if it was working, I spotted what seemed to be mould or something uncleaned on the roof of the inside of the fridge. Speaking of the fridge, the light inside doesn't work, which is why I couldn't tell if it was working or not. Figured it out once I fiddled with the dial and it started making noises. (accidentally froze my juice, whoops) Last cleanliness issue was the bin; while it was well hidden until the end of my stay, when taking the (far too small) bin bag out as per host's request, the bottom of the bin is filthy and in desperate need of cleaning. Whoever changed the bag just ignored this. Other minor gripes: - Mattress seems quite old. Fully compressed the second I sat on it, could feel the bedframe. - Radiator, stove, and microwave oven aren't *completely* intuitive to use; having some kind of brief instructions printed and laminated may be useful for future guests - An addition of a small kettle may be appreciated by future guests - As would a second set of cutlery (a double bed sleeps two people, but there was only enough cutlery for one person) - The toilet roll provided was clearly ancient, and was disintegrating on use, leaving powdery paper residue on everything it "cleaned" - Kitchen sink tap was wobbley and detached from the basin.

"Brilliant value for money and very good location, bed not comfortable though"

7.0

Brilliant location and fantastic value for money! The facilities are really good, with an en suite bathroom, double bed, desk, and small dining table. City centre is only a 10 min walk away, and Queens University is very close by. Bus station also quite close (about 15 min walk and the bus for Belfast International airport departs from here). There are loads of places to eat in the area, and a Tesco about 1 min walk away). I noticed there was a cinema in the building, but I didn’t check it out.

The bed could do with replacing. It’s really uncomfortable and I could feel every spring. A deep clean of the shower and plug is required (lots of water built up in the shower tray, indicating the plug is blocked). More toilet tissue required, and a bin and bin bag would be really helpful (guests are asked to put all rubbish in the bins downstairs before you leave the property). There isn’t any soap, washing up liquid, or a washing up cloth, so you will need to bring these with you to wash the utensils provided. There isn’t a kettle, but you can boil water in a pan (provided) on the stove.
