DownTown Hostels - Anjuna

The only thing I truly liked about my stay was Ritik from the reception. He genuinely went above and beyond to try and make my experience better. When I raised my concerns, he listened patiently and did everything he could to help, including upgrading me to a better room free of charge. His kindness and effort were the one bright spot in an otherwise disappointing stay. Big shoutout to him—I really appreciated his help!

I booked a double room, and it was one of my worst stays. This review is specifically for the private rooms—I can’t speak for the dorms, which seemed to be cleaned daily. The room was filthy on arrival—greasy floors, stained walls, a dirty bathroom, and windows so covered in grime I couldn’t see through them. I asked for cleaning, but they only used a dry mop, and I had to insist on a proper wash. Noise was unbearable. My room was behind the bar, where psytrance blasted all day from bad speakers, with almost no wall insulation. Even after an upgrade, it was still extremely noisy. For a “party hostel,” it makes no sense to play music nonstop—I had to sleep with earplugs. Even a phone ringing from the adjacent room sounds so loud. The upgraded room was cleaner, but many things were broken or missing—the fridge didn’t work, ambient lights flickered, and the kettle was just a base with no pot. Breakfast was included but useless since it’s only available from 10 AM to 11:30 AM. The bed was uncomfortable—too short (I’m 1.73m and my feet hung off), bad pillows, and curtains that didn’t fully block sunlight. The only positive was Ritik at reception, who was helpful and upgraded me for free. Big thanks to him. Overall, if you’re booking a double room, avoid this place. The dorms might be better, but private rooms suffer from poor cleanliness, loud noise, and bad maintenance. The relatively high price makes it even more outrageous.

Everything! The staff, the environment, the proximity to resraurants, and the beach. I will highly recommend this place to any traveller for a wholesome experience. I am looking forward to next my trip there.

The entire experience was very welcoming and positive. Being a solo traveler on this trip, initial hesitation to merge along with the surroundings would be difficult that's what my assumption was. But, it was not the case in this space. Washrooms were clean and neat and functional

Frankly, Even if I sit solely to think about the dislikes.....It's difficult for me to point out any.

I am very disappointed about this hostel. *poor maintenance *poor wifi quality *poor quality of bed *uncleaned washroom *no fan and ac is not working properly *no service for food

Nice location. Easily access to beaches, restaurants and happening places around. Lovely vibes.

The staff is very helpful and friendly. Especially the manager, Kajal, she is vibrant and it's great to see that managers can also be this charismatic! I came as a solo traveler but left with a friend! Thank you for an amazing stay downtown!
