Before leaving for our trip, I contacted our host to ask if he had a crib or a pack-and-play. He replied that he did not, but promised to buy one. I also asked if there was a Keurig coffee maker, and he said that there was. When we arrived, our hosts, Jose and Anna, greeted us warmly and gave us a tour of the house. To our delight, Jose had already purchased a crib and set it up before we arrived. When we looked for the Keurig, it quickly became clear that he had misunderstood what I meant. We also mentioned that the Teflon-coated pots and pans were scratched beyond what we felt was safe to use, and that there were no bathroom towels. Later that day, it was such a pleasant surprise to see that Jose had taken care of everything. We were amazed to find a box of brand-new pots and pans, a Keurig-style coffee maker, and several sets of bathroom towels waiting for us at the door. Jose truly went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and happy during our stay. Almost any request we had was handled quickly and graciously. Jose and Anna were incredibly kind and attentive, and they genuinely cared that we enjoyed our visit. The house itself was perfect. There were three bedrooms (each with its own air-conditioning unit) and two bathrooms on the second floor. The first floor included a full kitchen, powder room, dining and living rooms, and a washing machine (but no dryer). A large wall-mounted air-conditioning unit in the living room cooled the entire first floor. The beds were very comfortable, and there were plenty of linens and pillows. There was also a small backyard with a barbecue, table, and chairs-perfect for relaxing outdoors. By the end of our stay, we truly felt that we had made new friends in this beautiful country, and the house had become our home away from home. We would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend Jose and Anna as wonderful hosts.

Lack of hot water in the master bathroom - due to low water pressure

It has potential but is showing it’s age. Closish to the pool (about a block to walk). Having a BBQ was great. Gas stove (though I couldn’t figure out how to light it without matches). Clothes washer on site was nice. Big TV and WiFi worked well.

First thing we found in the kitchen stove was a large dish of rotten food. We battled flies the rest of our time there at times 5-8 buzzing around us. Not close to anything of walking distance. Even the beach club was a 15 minute walk. They had bikes which we had counted on for getting around with. Though they were decent bikes, the brakes on one were broken and the chain was rusty and the gears wouldn’t work on the other. Because of that we spent an extra 15-25 dollars a day on Taxis. There are, not a word of a lie, 30 speed bumps between the condo and the Entry Gates. With the wrong Taxi driver you can get car sick going anywhere. Though our Building Manager was attentive at first, we were left on our own after the first day. We told him of the bikes, he said he get on it, but I guess two weeks was too short a time frame. Overall cleanliness, windows, walls etc, was poor. One shower stopped draining with two days left in our stay.

It was a nice relaxing family vacation. It had all the basic utilities. The host was great and very friendly. He took us for a quick drive around the location to show us the beaches and the stores. He responded to all our questions very quickly.

The only thing I can think of and it isn't a huge deal is that we could of used extra was dish towels and blankets. The only thing available was flat sheets and we are used to sleeping with something a little heavier. In that case if that is the only negative thing I can think of, it means overall it was great.

It was beautiful and large and clean.
