Finest Retreats - Lewcott

The location was excellent although it was listen as 150m from the beach, when in fact it is 150m from the sea, which is the rocky shore line outside the harbour wall, the main beach is approx 1km

We were greeted with a damp musty smell when we entered the property, the property was very tired, surfaces and carpets were clean, however the was mould in most rooms, flaking paint, cobwebs, inside the cupboards was filthy, with insect dropping, spillages and dust all over the shelves, crockery, pots and pans and utensils. All of the random crockery, pans, cups, and furnishings looked like they had all been bought from a charity shop or jumble sale, I couldn’t even pass it off as quickly. The fire extinguishers were all out of date, the smoke detector was faulty, the broadband didn’t work and parking space advertised would be just big enough for a smart car, which isn’t the sort of vehicle people go on holiday in. I have many pics I can share with you. I am very disappointed with Finest Retreats and Booking.com as I relied on both organisations to vet the properties you offer, this clearly has never happened and might as well take pot luck and book with independent holiday let owners or AirBnB. Really not sure how you can defend what U do for the percentage of the fees that you charge.

Great location, sea view, beautiful historic house.

Non-functioning WiFi that we had to fix ourselves. Bring your own fast modem! Hygiene in the kitchen and bathroom: better close your eyes! The furnishings aren’t historic—just shabby. The musty smell in the house soaked into all our belongings for a long time after we returned home. We had to assist with the replacement of the electricity meter under the threat of the house being disconnected from the grid. There is no parking at the property, despite what the listing claims.

So close to the sea.

Lots of spiders. Limited parking if you had a big car, you would have to pay for parking. All the beds are single beds. The amenities are dated, with aluminum cooking pots and yucky cutlery.

Location close to Landsend, cozy and homely, historical house but lovingly looked after and cared for. You know it when you arrived that your felt welcome by the cottage. Accessible to the sea and swimming, excellent views and nature walks. Ice cream nothing beats Cornwall best and ofcourse the cornish pasty. We are provided booklet that contains enough information that we need for our stay and have access to help/advice from the caretaker/ host/ manager of the property. Its like a Home away from home.

Parking not clear on booking.com website, only found details when I got further contacts from host that the car park allocation can only fit a very small car, and when we arrives there it's not flat surface so tricky. However, we are told that an alternative safe parking is accessible so meaning we ended up paying for daily extra cost towards it. The good thing is the ticket machine can take cards.

Great location. House had character due to its age and changes over the years.

Kitchen cupboards could do with a sort out.
