Beautiful Studio in Downtown Riga - Great Location

Very good location within walking distance of the beautiful old town, but not too close to the crowds. In a fine and lively part of the city. I had a comfortable 10-day stay, in a quiet and clean 6th floor studio that had all that I needed. Perfect for a solo traveler or couple. Five-minutes walk to the tram stop which brought me to the Arena Riga quite easily each day (including a brief walking part on the journey). About 15 mins walk to the airport bus (no 22), which was handy on arrival and departure days. Not much of a view to talk about from the studio. The window looks to a nice and sunny inner courtyard, to which residents have access through the gate of the building next door. I don't think there was A/C in the studio, but it wasn't needed in early September. Many grocery stores, some cafes and kebab restaurants, and lots of other shops nearby.

No cooking appliances except for a microwave oven and a kettle. I didn't mind that as I didn't plan to cook, but some other guest may do. Some free kitchen ingredients such as coffee, sugar, botteld water would be welcome.

The location was perfect. It was clean. That's all.

The shower cabin was blocked and my evening was ruined, because I tried to manage a flood in the bathroom. Nobody helped me despite the fact that I was writing to them about the problem. I wrote to them that there was a flood in the bathroom because of a blocked pipe, and I couldn't take a shower, which ruined my stay: I had a very important event the next day and needed to wash my hair, and they just answered "oh, so sad, thank you for the information". So I had to find a way to help myself with one of the bathroom towels. The host took full price for staying without any compensation. Also the next morning I knew that it was often a problem in this property, but if you have this problem, nobody will help you. Hardly recommended.
