Luxury Medieval 2 Storey apartment with Antique Furniture in Old Town

Decent location with an easy walk to the old town. Not much in the immediate vicinity but it did make it quiet. Decent beds and modern bathroom. Right by a viewpoint of the city.

WATCH OUT! POTENTIAL SCAM! Please be aware when booking that this is NOT a three bedroom property. There is a large upstairs area (with no door for privacy) that has a large double bed and two single day beds. There is then a hallway/long connective room with two single day beds. This room is the only way to access the downstairs bathroom and second bedroom. This hallway is what they count as the “third bedroom”. This means there is no living area, as you cannot sit on these day beds due to a steeply sloped roof. The ad also lists a living room with extra sofa bed in addition to the bedrooms. This doesn’t exist at all. Except the kitchen, there is no common space to hang out. There is also only one bedroom with a door and full privacy. Secondly, they ask a €500 deposit via bank transfer or a third party payment system I’ve never heard of. I’ve been travelling with this site for fifteen years and never encountered something like this. You will likely have ZERO protection from your bank or travel insurance if you transfer them money. After negotiation, they agreed to take payment via credit card. However, they then refused to refund to the credit card we paid with, and demanded our full bank details. This is an ongoing dispute and two weeks later they still have not returned the deposit. They claimed it would be returned the day we left. I highly encourage you to find somewhere else to stay! Lastly, a burglar alarm repeatedly went off in the middle of the night. There were no instructions on how to fix this and we were left to listen to the wails for half an hour at 4am until a housekeeper came to our rescue. Make sure you get the code when you check in!

The property is extremely well situated in a safe area and near to a key city view point, tourists can literally be seen queuing and taking pictures from the apartment windows! The apartment creates a ‘wow factor’ and your children will immediately to the scamper off and explore things. The apartment itself is extremely clean, large and well decorated.

The international bank transfer deposit process really needs to change as this took the simple procedure of booking accommodation and changed into a bit of a nightmare. Not through direct fault of the owner but our deposit ended up taking three weeks and hours of chasing to be returned. The owner, when informed, responded in a very transactional manner and did little to resolve the situation. Clearly minor points unless you have to spend a lot of time in the apartment: All the televisions within the apartment were dumb solids. Despite best attempts, we were unable to tune them into anything meaningful. There is no snug/lounge area to sit. Apart from the dining chairs in the kitchen, the remaining ‘seating’ is on sofa beds.

Very beautiful property with lots of character, very clean and extremely well looked after in a great location.
