USLocation was remote so it was quiet . EV charging worked. Beds were comfortable
When I booked the property, it only gave me the “non-refundable” option. After I booked it, the property owner sent me the agreement to sign that the pet fee will be additional $175 on top of the already charged cleaning fee. Had they disclosed it before I booked the non-refundable booking, I would not have booked it so I was trapped. They refused to let me cancel it despite multiple requests. When we arrived at the property, the master bathroom was unclean with shaved hair residue and mouth rinse residue. When I notified the owner, she said the cleaner will come so we waited but she never came and they wanted us to reschedule it, inconveniencing our vacation time. Furthermore, the check out instructions were excessive, such as removing All linens into the bathroom, including beddings. We paid for cleaning fee already so we shouldn’t do chores on our vacation. Also, the ping pong table’s net was broken and it’s not a full size table.
USUSI had a wonderful stay with my family and friends at Balk Retreat. The cabin was very nice and well-maintained, and the location was beautiful. I would definitely recommend this property to others.
USThe location was excellent for exploring a variety of sites in Shenandoah. The cabin was private, clean, very comfortable, and had all amenities you could want. The check in/check out process was easy. It was perfect for our family vacation and I would go back in a heartbeat.

USUSBeautiful property, beautiful area, close to national park etc, amenities were awesome, cozy, lots of blankets, beds were comfortable, sheets were super soft and nice.
The hidden fees on a seperate platform they make you verify your identity on was a little frustrating and not being able to reach the host to have questions answered. Ended up paying an extra 35$ just to verify identity etc on top of 130$ cleaning fee for a one night stay was a lot. Also having a list of clean up duties when you’re already being charged for a 130$ cleaning fee is always a downer for me. Also the hot tub needed more water, it was very low.
