Charles Alexander Short Stay - Ansdell House

House was spotless. Kitchen well equipped. Toilet rolls, tea bags, milk, washing up liquid etc. plentiful and much appreciated.

Only issues are things out of hosts control, for example: neighbour’s motorbike’s alarm continually going off, other neighbours yappy dogs.

Very nice please to stay,

I think the house was well appointed with everything we needed for a great stay. The welcome pack was a nice touch too. The beds were super comfy and the quilts warm. The shower was great and always hot and the complimentary toiletries a joy.

Personally I prefer white bedding as it can be easier to remove stains. Although the bedding was obviously clean and ironed, there were two stains on the quilt and one on the bottom sheet. The mottled grey colour matched beautifully with the decor, but meant the stains blended in.

I enjoyed having space mainly, even though not all guests were able to come due to a family emergency it was great to feel like we were staying in a home and that overall just made us feel more comfortable and not on top of each other. We have stayed in caravans and smallish apartments previously and having stayed in a property like this means I wouldn’t want to return to smaller accommodation on my return trips to Blackpool

Although overall distance to main attractions was great. The location itself wasn’t the most desirable and the walk in the evenings with my children did feel a little intimidating. Also not an big issue as I work within the holiday and leisure industry myself so understand but you could tell it was coming towards the end of the holiday season with the property showing signs of wear and tear like blind weights & clips missing. The outside bins were also all full on arrival with the black bin on the pavement overflowing which I had to push down and close to avoid the street being littered due to weather which wasn’t the best looking for my arrival. There was also a smell of damp coming from the utility room which will need addressed. All in all I wouldn’t have this put me off returning to this property

We liked how close it was to the promenade.

The house was quite dingy and dark at night, poor lighting, particularly in the kitchen. The property had a damp smell about it, especially downstairs. We had to remove slugs both mornings when we came downstairs.

A very clean house with lovely decor and appliances easy to use. Location was very good just 1 mile from the front where the pier and main attractions are.

A bit outdated. Needs upgraded, especially the toilet/shower.
