XL Studio - Modern Studio with Rooftop Pool

The exercise room was nice and building was secure.

The apartment had a smell like a smoker had previously stayed there. I bought some air freshener and that helped some but really not enough. I didn’t really want to move to different place though because I was all unpacked and settled in and thought I could deal with the smoke smell which I did but it makes the apartment not seem clean with that smell lingering. I had stayed at this building before and the apartment I stayed in had clean smell. Next I had problems with lock on door not working. The problem was dealt with right away but the guy who came to my door and said he was the manager of building didn’t have any name badge on and I didn’t know his name, , that made me feel uneasy as a solo woman traveler. He sent someone back to actually fix lock and that guy said the man sent him. The whole interactions were unprofessional in my opinion

Nothing at all. Customer service was terrible and rude. Our room smells like weed.

The room smelled like weed and we tried to talk to the lack of customer service. They offered another room 2 days later and said they would investigate. They never investigated, for 2 weeks they said they were working on it. I’m in the military and cannot be around weed or I will be fired. The odor was so bad I barely could breathe and I didn’t want to risk staying in another room that could smell the same. Also while the reservation says no smoking and anytime check-in, when we arrived at night time the door was locked and we couldn’t get in. The reservation did not provide hours of customer service so we were calling from 1am-3 am with no answer and no one at the concierge desk. Even so later that day we called during working hours and said they would investigate and they never gave an update, even after 2 weeks since the initial complaint. Since the smell was so bad we had to book another hotel last minute, spending much more money. In addition in the middle of the night there was people yelling and fighting in the hall way. Also the door would not properly lock if we left the room. The place refuses to give us a refund with the only explanation that we called during non working hours. Which is dumb because we called the next morning and even came back to the hotel in the afternoon. My girlfriend cried all night because she felt so unsafe there also with the feeling that she could barely breathe from the weed. The building customer service lady was so rude to us once we finally got a hold of her… after 2 weeks of calling… she was not listening to us. Ultimately all they care about is money and not the people who stay there.

Comfortable. Nice and responsive. Loved the amenities.

Prices advertised in welcome email (specifically , cost for late check-out) should be consistent when communicating directly with host.
