there was a certain unpleasant smell upon entry from cleaning products I think but it went away within a few hours.
GBGBIt was that bad we left half way though the stay. I am deeply disappointed with the accommodation with a very decent list of issues: 1) Incredibly “musty/ wet dog” smell that greeted us on arrival Sunday night and every subsequent time we left and arrived back at the property. 2) A toaster that immediately sets the fire alarm into over drive which was accompanied by a kettle that looks like its last clean was last century. 3) An assortment of natures finest insects in the premises that would make this the perfect next location for a David Attenborough documentary (grasshopper, flies and spiders). 4) the overly creaky and loose floorboards that make any nocturnal movements resemble a heavy metal concert. 5) the gardens which quite frankly have had no attention whatsoever and present a clear health and safety hazard to anyone that dares enter them! For a “lovely 4 bedroom houses” (as it is quoted on Booking.com) this property fails to live up to even this most basic description and we will be warning all other potential occupants accordingly via the review mechanisms as soon as possible. I would appreciate it if you could consider a partial refund of the cost of the property as this clearly is at best a breach of description and worst a potential health and safety issue for any future occupants.
