We have stayed here on a number of occasions. It’s quaint and has history to the building

There’s not a lot to dislike but the rooms are a little tired but excellent value for money

As soon as I complained about the poor room I was offered a new king size room which was fabulous, just as I had hoped from this property. Also all the staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was varied and tasty and we ate one evening meal which we also enjoyed. Would I stay here again, yes but I would not tolerate a poor room and would ask to be changed immediately

on arrival we rang for reception and staff came through from the bar, it seemed that they were etremely busy. We were given room 8 which immediately seemed very small, we considered going back to reception but it seemed that there was only two staff running the whole bar/hotel so decided against compaining at this point. However, with a small double bed pushed up against one wall so very difficult to get in and out and no bed side table to put a clock or glass of water. In the night I stubbed my toe and almost fell out of this bed. The shower room here had a shower with a very high step, a toilet seat that was loose and no towel hook near the basin. After an awful nights sleep I had to complain in the morning as I had paid for a double and had in effect been given a single room . Please note this is the first time I have been critical of a property but this room was awful.

"Wouldn’t stay again even for the cheap price"

The room had a faulty radiator which clicked and banged all night resulting in significant loss of sleep. Raised this with reception and no action taken other then an apology.

I was very concerned about the lack of security with customer details. I was given a sheet of paper with another customer booking details when checking in by a member of staff and had to inform them of this error. When we were checking out the reception was completely unmanned and the computer was left on in full view of the reception area with all the guests details visible and easy to access.

We loved having a little chalet because we have a dog. It's much easier to take her out if she needs to go during the night. We loved the comfy bed and a wonderful hot bath. The breakfast was wonderful too.

Just a very minor point and probably there is a good house keeping reason behind it. There were very few people booked in on a Sunday night yet a couple were booked into the chalet adjoining us. I was conscious of having the TV on too loud or talking after 10pm. Also our dog is noise reactive and I was concerned she would bark at their coming and going. She didn't! It would have been nice to have a chalet's gap between us if possible. It's not a deal breaker and we will be booking again.
